Shopping trip to PA

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

We bought some nice goodies that we didn't shoot (all kinds of stuff), and maybe we can shoot some when we're unpacking them after we get home.

Tomorrow we'll finish shopping Adamstown (2 large shops and a medium one to go), then head over to Annville to the Antique Station for our last stop before heading home. It's a converted grocery warehouse or something like that. It's HUGE!!

Did anyone go out thrifting or fleaing (is that even a word?) this weekend?

What, no dishwasher?

OOOOH Looks like you boys had fun!
Stop-in in NYC sometime when you are passing through!

:-)

P.S. Code requires 30" (75 +/-cm) between the cooktop and the bottom of the cabinet above it! Call the fire Marshall! *LOL*

That HOMART "sink" is actually a suds-tub for use with a suds-saver model washer. The storage drawer underneath is quite handy. I would love to have one of those.

Ah, Annville. That's right in my backyard. I used to go to the Antique Station (used to be Antique Depot) quite a bit. It's gotten a lot smaller than what it once was. Now there is a lazer tag joint and a thrift store on the one end. You can still find some neat stuff there. Amazingly, there are things there that were in the booths when they opened years ago.

Of the two big antiquey malls near here one just closed down a month or so back. Probably a sign of the times people are being more careful about what they spend. Not only that but they tend to ask alot for some of the stuff and like Todd says above I've noticed so much of the stuff has been in the displays well ever since we moved back in 06

When I made the Ice cream cones for the 50's dance show

I used Great Stuff too but for the ice cream cones I used real ones and shellacked them......I still have them I think as well as the ice Cream sundae's and root beer float I made....have to find them and take pics. PAT

Call the fire Marshall!

Why? So they could discover there was no smoke/CO detector in the room either???!!!

Tim: The Homart's lid was a little on the rough side from having that sewing machine on top of it for a while. Otherwise it was pretty nice. $32 with the discount IIRC. It's at The Mad Hatter on Rt 272 in Adamstown. Maybe they'll ship???

Todd: At first we were quite disappointed at the Depot (I still call it that) as last time we were there there was a lot more to it. Looks like the thrift store took over about 1/3 of what the depot used to be, didn't they? Yeah, we saw a lot of stuff we'd seen before, and it's been a couple of years since we'd been there.

We did see a few things though:

He also grabbed a another pink tin stove (Structo) so we can complete the one we have, and a ruby-tinted Kent vac pot before we checked out the thrift next door. OMF Nerves! It was HUGE! The size of the housewares section was that of an average Goodwill or Sally!

Among the things we grabbed there was a Hoover Celebrity. It was officially the last goodie to be packed into the car (very nicely between two other boxes of goodies) before we headed home to Southborough.

Rich is unpacking some stuff, and I'll get a few more pix as the eve progresses!

You guys were 15 minutes from my house when you were in Adam

Hey Dave,

Whoopsie! Next time, we'll post before we go there and maybe we can arrange to meet up! Same for you, Todd!

This wouldn't have been a good meeting time though. My whatever (cold, bronchitis...) was coming back w/ a vengence. By last night I was wiped! Rich even did most of the driving home, and that's unusual because I'm a terrible passenger!

Rich is talking about maybe doing the April Extrav, but we haven't decided yet. We'll post if we do!

We got a pair of these great crystal candelabras, probably 1930's vintage, Sunday morning at the Renninger's flea market. It was the only thing open before 10am any of the days! It's shown in place, in the dining room, with shades Rich already had for it.

Last pic tonight. It's the Magnavox, plugged in. The picture is torqued clockwise a bit, but it does come in and we do get pretty good sound. Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the GE. When we plugged it in tonight, we were able to get some sound, but no picture.

Tomorrow, I should have a picture of the "jukebox" we bought just before the candalabrum, as well as some other things!
