Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hey Ray,

Closest we came was about 35 miles away where 287 and 78 come together (near Pluckemin). Sorry! Besides, we never woulda gotten outta there!

Davy- Sinking Spring? We go right through there when we take the back way from Renninger's Kutztown to Shupp's Grove in Adamstown!! Nice RR track on Columbia Ave, S of the Police Sta!! We get off 222 at Papermill, take Van Reed to 422, a quick R and L onto Columbia (Fritztown Rd) into Reinholds, and L on 897 to 272. Saves a lot of time fighting 222 or Bus222 on Thursday of Extrav, especially since Shupp's opens at 3 now!

Minersville?

OK, next time that were not down there power-shopping, we'll have to make time to have a little get-together- even if it's meeting up at Renningers for some moseyin' around on Saturday, or dinner in, maybe the Spring Ridge area? There's a good Italian restaurant on State Hill Rd just west of the main shopping area.

Ray, you....talk??????? LOL!!!

Are you guys planning on using the Sunbeam egg cooker? I have a different make, can't remember name right now, but it's fantastic for making poached eggs. Then you can whip up a little Hollandaise in the blender to pour over them a la eggs benny. I had a simple recipe for that round here somewhere I should post.

We went to the one on 272 in Adamstown. The inside is open all year from 7:30am to either 3 or 4pm on Sunday, but there were about 20 outside dealers when we were there since it was sunny. Unless things have changed, Kutztown (Noble St/Rd) is only open Saturday unless there's an Extravaganza. Seems to me you're not too far from that one!

Now, we need to get Davy on board, and anyone else who may want to meet up there! Rich just came home, and said we should think about Extrav in April!

We'll see,
Chuck

GE TV tips

I have that same GE bakelite TV. It's probably an 801. Must have fixed it 25+ years ago and it still works.
1) Don't EVER press on the top! Just a little pressure will break that cabinet. I did it once and it took a year to find another cabinet rear.
2) Be super-duper careful with that set. I think its a hot chassis set. Big-a$$ shock hazard if you don't have the equipment or training.
3) No picture: Mine did the same thing. The vertical blanking cap from the vertical output tube to the CRT cathode was a leaker. The cap made the cathode too positive. Clip it out to see if the raster returns. If so - you figured it out! I'm not a big believer in total recap of every TV. One capacitor and one terminal strip 25 years ago and it hasn't failed since.

CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

You drove right past our house!! We're right off of Columbia Avenue! We're in that new development on the left hand side as you are heading towards 897.

Are you referring to Toscani on State Hill Road? That place rocks. My wife and I go there for Sunday brunch occaisonally. Also, there is a nice restaurant called Beverly Hills Tavern on Old Fritztown Road. The boys and I go there on Monday evenings for wings and drinks after we have drill with the fire company.

Hey Dave,

We didn't go that way this time, but we always go that way 2-3 times during Extrav week!! Within spitting distance! (Not that I'd spit. The best people don't.)

The Italian restaurant we went to....

It's on State Hill IIRC. When you walk in, the bar is on the left and the seating is on the right. Just when you enter the seating, the salad bar is on the left. I don't know why, but I can never remember the name! The salad bar is fresh, the fried calamari is great, and the eggplant parm passes the test too! I'm gonna call a hotel that recommended it and see what I can find out.

could it be....

Buca di Beppo? Is it in the shopping center with Target and Dick's Sporting Goods? The only other restaurant on State Hill Road is Austin's, and that's more of a steakhouse (and a good one at that).

Buca di Beppo

That name reminds me of Family Guy, when Peter makes like he can speak Italian at the restaurant.. Bappa de Buppi, binga da boppo, bucco di buppi.....

SANTINO'S is the one I was looking for!!! Technically it's at 1 Wellington Blvd... at the corner of State Hill.

Have you been there? We've been there several times and haven't had a bad meal yet, but it's been about a year or so since our last visit.

Chuck

Santino's!!!

Yes, La Casa della Genitalia!

I call it that because I believe there is a statue of Poseidon standing above the doorway with his dinkus hanging out.

Yes, excellent food. I get the Ravioli with pesto sauce and their tarimisu for desert. Next time you come, we'll grab dinner there. Very nice family dining, because a very nice family owns it.
