We were a Buick family...

Mom had her '85 LeSabre, and I wanted one badly. By the time I could afford *NEW* this was all GM had in full size rear drive vehicles.
This was my first new Buick, a 1988 Electra Estate Wagon, loaded with everything. It was a demo model, 5000 miles on it when I bought it.
I sold the 76 Electra shortly after I bought this.

Cyber don't feel bad, I was 24 when I bought this car, and I got some strange looks from friends too, but this was the car we could all pile into and GO!
I drove this til 1997, it had 125,000 miles on it and was having some major engine issues that nobody could fix. I was sad to see this one go too.
Cars today just don't have the style they used to...

The picture of my car would just bore everyone. I currently drive a Ford Freestyle. which I love but I am convinced was inspired by the "Family Truckster" featured in the first Chevy Chase Vacation movie.
I have no vintage cars, but my favorite is still the 1960 Chevrolet Impala.

My current vehicle is 1999 Dodge Ram 1500.

I've always wanted a Dodge Ram ever since the new body style came out in 1994. I went and bought this truck in the beginning of 2002 and have never regretted the purchase.

She had 24,600 miles when I bought her and now has a little over 81,000.

When winter time comes around, she get's to stretch out her axles and whatnot as we go out and do a little mudding and off-roading.

I'll post a pic later on tonight.

I posted pictures of my Smart before. Here it is again, very nice fitting into that small parking space! It's less comfortable than a lot of cars, but fun to drive.

This was by far my favorite. I should have never gotton rid of this one. When my lease is up on the escalade I probably will end up getting another one. This car was named "spud". Hubby says it looked like a baked potato going down the road.

Thanks Gary! Gregm from MA was here last night and I let him drive the 55 Caddy to a 1950's diner about 30 miles from Fort Wayne. We just had a blast! The vintage cars are lots of fun.

I just want to say that I love this thread. I am a vac collector and a car collector. This is awesome...I really liked the '66 LeSabre two door...I had the same car but with two more doors during college. Classmates laughed at first but then decided that my car was the one of choice to take us all to our field observations. It was very comfortable and ice literally clung to the A/C vents in the summer. I miss that one. Being an Olds guy, I have to give the '61 Olds!

Here is my classic...grandma's 1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme. It now has 31,000 miles on it and still smells new. I was 5 during the summer of 1977 and vividly remember when she bought it. My mom had a Vega and I thought grandma bought a Cadillac. I have had her repainted and added new bumpers but the rest is original. I have every shred of paperwork with the car. I have all of the original license plates except for the first set. I found the current set on ebay. This will be part of the family for generations.

Thanks for starting this thread...great cars everyone! It is so nice to see some diversity here...everything from huge wagons and Cadillacs to the very small new cars. AWESOME!!!

Here is mine...

Here is my other classic. It is a 1971 Olds 98 Luxury Sedan. This was the top of the line Olds 98 for 1971 and it was all new that year making it the biggest Olds to date and the largest that they would ever produce (It shared the same chasis with Cadillac!). I have had it now for three years buying it from ebay! I bought it from the original family. The gentleman that bought it originally worked for Olds in Lansing, MI. He watched his car come down the line and he hand picked the parts for his car. It has the 455 Olds V-8 and power everything. However he chose to delete the air conditioning. I am glad because this made the car less complicated! It runs great and is a pleasure to drive. It was a sad day when GM decided to ax Olds...I think that they are paying for it now. I love the car and plan to keep it for awhile. I like to go to shows and see cars that I remember from the '70's...my neighbors drove regular cars (sedans, wagons, hardtops)...not everyone drove pony cars and sportscars, and two door hardtops. It is nice to see "regular" well kept cars at these shows...sometimes I am the only one!

My current ride...

Here is my current ride...I totaled my '03 Olds Alero...we were an Olds family! I had to buy a new car...no choice on the matter. I have had it with GM. I was not going to buy another one...I had 3 lemons since 1996...Saturn, Chevy, Olds...NO MORE! I have had enough of lousy service and crappy products. The quality of the new GM cars suck big time. I bought a HONDA! YIKES! My family and my dad in particular hates the car. My dad asked me if the speedometer read in Japanese....you know the car is made right here in Marysville, OH and only the transmission is made in Japan. My Olds had about the same mix...except I think most parts were made in China because nothing fit right or worked well. Time will tell with Honda...it only has 800 miles or so on it now...I hope that I did ok. By the way...I had so much trouble with my Olds that I got involved with the folks at the Olds Customer Relations office. I sent them a new picture of my Accord just to rub it in! Pretty sick, huh? I just wonder if anyone else has had trouble with new GM cars and trucks like me...or is it just me? GM is getting no more of MY money that is for sure.

PS...that is my son Glenn all of 18 months old too. Behind us is my wife's 2005 Honda Element...a nice alternative to a geek I mean minivan. Heather has not been able to hurt it in over a year...now THAT speaks volumes!

A fitting end...

Here is my 2003 Olds Alero...ooops. A lady in an Astro Van pulled out in front of me at 50mph. We were both sore but nothing major. The Olds was toast however. No one will ever have to drive it as it was totaled...only 29,000 miles. Funny thing...this happened just as it went out of warranty! I had just had the dealer fix a faulty hood hinge (the hood was out of allignment and ready to fall off!). I made such a stink about it too...all seems senseless now!

Everyone be careful out there...always buckle up...keep those kids in the back and NEVER put anything loose in your car...keep it in the trunk. I am here to tell you that those items become projectile in a crash. Be safe!

I'm a Volkswagen person at heart... I dream of owning an old Beelte someday, preferably a 1968-1972 non-Super Beetle. Red.

My first car was a 1993 Volkswagen Fox, named Harvey. It was a box on wheels, and verrrry utilitarian. Not a single power feature on the thing, but it had A/C... go figure. I cried the day I had to trade him in--needed more work than the car was worth. Here's his last picture from that sad day.

New Car.

I Traded it in for this--a 2000 Mazda Protege, two years old, with 27,000 miles on it.. Although not my first choice, I've had nothing major go wrong with it other than normal wear parts, and it's nice and zippy. I can also pack it pretty full!
