Amana Bottom Mount:

Actually, I would be just ducky with one of those Amana bottom-mounts - IF it was the version with the black handles. That's all I ask - just black handles, not the white.

The reason is evident in the photo - white handles yellow very badly over time. How many Nineties and Noughties appliances have we all seen with white handles that were damn near tan from age, UV and poor cleaning habits?

Also, white handles just don't have any "presence." None.

I've never understood the big kick all the manufacturers had for white plastic/vinyl EVERYTHING. It ages like shite.....No presence, no thrill....nuthin'. I need to photo my black JennAir for you Sandy. So beautiful. Full length vertical coved aluminum door pulls with black faux leather facing trim (aka vinyl tape) and black acrylic door panels. Totally timeless. I'll keep it forever....won't ever look "of its time", definitely. Funny how those 80s/90s white pieces give their age away immediately. You can look at certain dishwashers and fridges and say "1992". And be exactly right.

Ovrphil just posted this. My fridge is exactly this model but with all gloss black door dispenser trim. The one in the ad is FREE for Gawds' sake. Unreal. Is this near you?
