siemens condensor

hey peeps,
hotpoint dryer went on me after two years so decided to buy one of the siemens condensor dryers and i am so impressed compared to the hotpoint.
here some pics,

also was wondering if anyone had the new siemens ASR washing machine think its similar to the new bosch logixx 8 and what ya thought of it, i've been reading up on it and it seems good but not too sure bout the noise level.

the textured drum is supposed to improve air flow bit like the miele's i guess, and the paddles move the stuff from front to back making reverse action a thing of the past or so it says

it was pricey but i saw it in the shop and i just had to have it lol, and it actually condenses rather than the last one just realeasing the steam and condensing a tiny amount.

Oh How I'd love to have one of those in Silver to go with my Zanussi hehe They look amazing Just a few Questions , What are the Drying times like, and How does it sound

drying time + noise

the colour was the only thing i didn't like with it, cause everything else is in silver, my other half had a moan bout that but i decided to go for quality and it was a discountiued model so was on the cheap, the newer model is a 7kg where this is a 6kg.
drying times for say a load of towels is bout 60-65 mins on high heat and for clothes on low heat it takes around 40-50 mins, its a senor model so it just goes onto anti-crease when the stuff is dry and that lasts for a hr unless you open the door.

It creates little noise all you can really hear is the stuff going round in it and the hum of the cooling fan its one of the quietist condensors i've ever heard.

Ah thats great to hear!!! I'm so glad that its not one of those machines that look great but dont perform very well!, And those drying times are very impressive i must say!! . I'm so hoping to get one of these soon lol

IIRC - both the 6 as well as the 7 kilo drum are l12 liters large - no difference there.

It is a cool dryer, though - love the glass door.

yeah i was well happy with the drying times, didn't believe the machine at first until i took all the stuff out.
Before i'd have loads of wet washing waiting to go in the dryer but now im waiting for the washer to finish lol .

Loving the glass door, my other half he just thinks thats all i wanted it for , i keep going on bout how good it is and he's just like yeah whatever lol.

Nice interior, far better than dull aluminium drums.

Hotpoint (and Creda) were never good condensers: Which? slated them a few years ago, for too much steam being emitted.

I know what you mean about partners' indifference: mine looks at me like I came from Planet Zanussi! LOL

I remember reading bout that which report just after i bought the hotpoint dryer, i also remember reading that they release up to the equavalite (cant spell) of two bottles of wine which i found shocking, i also remember reading that it should also be supplied with ear plugs lol.

A guy that I used to work with, bought a Creda Condenser drier. Then his brother bought one. Both moaned about them being "wallpaper strippers". This was about the time of that "Which?" report. I don't think either of them read the report.

Of the condenser models, Which? said that the Miele, came out top for retaining moisture, closely followed by the AEG and a substantially cheaper Zanussi.

Didn't the Hotpoint/Creda models allow 50% of the moisture to escape?

I have the Bosch equivalent of that machine and have t agree with you they are beautiful machines. Compared to a noisey hotpoint condensor this one just has a gentle pur. Congratuations on getting a truley beautiful machine.

i think it was something like that, i know when ever i used to clean the condensor out you could tell it was far from water tight.
I also had big problems with the pump becoming blocked with fluff, thats the other great thing bout this the fluff filter is also a container that opens out so hardly any fluff manages to escape into the condesing unit.

cbosch does the same bosch model have this as well?

My nan and grandad have the creda model, used to be in the kitchen until they couldn't stand all the condensation everywhere, now in the conservertory and every time you use it all the windows, doors have to be open.
Definatley glad i spent the money on this.

fluff filter

the fluff filter is sealed off from the condensing unit so no fluff can get through to it. Although when I have cleaned the unit I have noticed small quantities of dust due to not over heavy usage
