With so much discussion recently about cooking, I thought I'd share one of my favorite cooking tips. My Mom taught it to me several years back. If you have one to share, please speak up!
Instead of simply draining grease from a pan of ground beef, try this:
Once the beef is thoroughly cooked, bring it to the kitchen sink and flood the pan with hot water. The grease will float to the top. Once full, give it a few stirs to loosen more grease. Tilt the pan and drain as closely to the bottom as you can without spilling the beef. Repeat this two or three times. Trust me, this gets rid of a ton of grease. The few tablespoons of water that are left in the pan easily evaporate when put back on the burner. It's also the perfect amount of water for adding a taco seasoning packet. Simmer for a minute or two, and voila!
P.S. Not recommended for septic systems
