I was handed this question. A customer has a Westinghouse refrigerator they believe dates to 1953, model number S684. There was also a number MVA9 on the refrigerator. She wants to know how old this refrigerator is.

Anyone have an idea?

There was a model SC84 made in 1951. That second letter kept moving up to designate each refrigerator model year, but the letter was different for different appliances like ranges had a different letter code for the year than refrigerators.
