I am sitting here in tears right now... The trusty Explorer has broken down not once, but TWICE in one day..I am at my brothers...Not sure of what to do or whats going to happen...

Basicly, this AM I whent out to the explorer and the lovely "Check Engine" light was on..GRRRR... Ok, so i hop in and take off..Note that the transmisson is SLAMMING in and out of gear..SO i plug in my handy little pocket scanner and it showes two codes..I hop online and find out these codes indicate a transmisson range sensor malfunction...
Oh Great i think...Just had the trannie rebuilt... The incompatant boob...I call him he has no clue what this sensor is or does.. I go down to the local ford outfit, they agree with me and replace said sensor for $148.00...
Not bad....

So then i continue on with my day, laughing carrying on and having a great time..

We arrive at sears (and the mall) at 5:30ish after dinner at the IHOP... I park the explorer and go in...
We come out of sears about an hour and half later... The explorer won't start...At all... Every thing works, just won't start...Look over and dumb as* me left the lights on..OK fine... Need a jump... Ask a really hot guy if he has jumper cables and he does... SO he hops in his hummer and his (now i am assueming here, but they looked every part of it) boyfriend/partner/friend comes out and we jump off the explorer...Than we drive to my brothers friends house and i shut off the explorer..Dead... Ok.. NEeds another jump.. WRONG... Car won't start at all...
I am so upset right now..In tears.. WHat do i do???
This has been a great car only needing a transmisson rebuild (which the incompatant boob should have fixed right)and mantince... I have put 44K on it in 18.5 months... Its still a damn good car..

Plus to top that off, i did something kinda bad last night... SOmething i wouldn't normally do... I had some social lubrication (just a lttile smirnoff) and one of my brothers fellow officers was over at his house... Jason and i got into a long conversation and we whent from there... After a while we wanderd upstairs to the guest room, and well, one thing led to another and so forth..Jason is in the part of life he's not sure what he is or who he like or what not... Plus the military thing is hard on him for him to accept his "gayness"... I woke up this morning in bed with him, just wondering what i had done and why... Then it replayed it's self over again and i have sepnt most of today with him.. Now my Explorer is stuck in HIS driveway dead as a friggn door nail... He's here right now, and i am just kinda lost... What do i do/say or......

Not the christmas i planned...

Ok... I am going to crawl back into my corner and figure out what needs to happen..Chad

I remember the old country western song, "I've got tears in my ears, cryin on my pillow over you."
The holiday is a stressful time for all of us. The anxiety is palpable and no doubt you are feeling some of that.
The car is simply a a mechanic object that can be repaired. Cars are so much easier to diagnose that hearts. Don't you wish you had a pocket scanner to plug into your mood meter and know what needs work?
Chad, take it a little easier on yourself. You have been under a lot of pressure living with family and doing your best to meet their needs. That doesn't leave much time for renewal. You can't possibly own what transpires for Jason. He is equally responsible and beside his quandry, no one had a rope around his neck dragging him to bed. If it felt good, enjoy for the moment. Not every human interaction has to become a relationship.
Get good rest, make sure you're getting lots of water and protien. You need a good machine running in you as well. Hopefully the electrical issue is a quick and simple fix and you'll be free to enjoy the next couple days. What has happened is yesterday's news and tomorrow is a fresh page you print that is a success story.

It all goes to show ya, ya cant have the perfect affair and the perfect car and the perfect Christmas, all at the same time! Ya just gotta choose one, and hone in. However, it does sound like all three are sort of broken all at the same time for you. I would suggest buying a lottery ticket, winning, getting a new car and a new man, or just having a Merry Christmas because this too shall pass.
 
Well, can't help you with the love life, but sounds like the battery went out on ya. How old is it? If it's over three years, then likely it's at end of life (depending on how many times you left the lights on). Plus, batteries tend to die in cold weather, when they are less efficient (although they usually sustain the most damage during hot weather, go figure).

If the tranny didn't act up again on the drive to/from the mall, then sounds like the sensor fixed that problem. One less thing to worry about, right?

As for the blahs, hey, it's the holiday season and everyone is entitled to feel out of sorts. Join the club!
 
Well, you did score an officer....isn't that a good thing?

Just be honest and forthcoming about your feelings with him. If you regret it and don't want things to continue, speak up. Consider if you think alcohol plays an adverse role in the choices you make, and whether or not that could hurt you.

Just because the bratwurst was good, doesn't mean you gotta move to Johnsonville....just a thought.

Update

As of this am, we know the batterys good, car still dead...
The transmisson is fixed as far as i can tell, but then again the DAMN thing won't START...

Its more upsetting to me because here i sit, somewhat broke 2 days before christmas and am stuck....

Now as far as Jason goes...I am just going to ride it out and see how far it goes... Hes been here ever scince thursday night so.....

I am still upset because of the lack of funds/running car issue.... Its scary the thought of the unknown..
The mighty explorer will rise again, but when and how are unknown at this time.. Chad

As far as anything else goes: Who wouldn't wanna win the lottery? Who doesn't want a new car? I love my explorer, but would like to have a newer car at some point.
 
Have you checked the starter motor?

They are cheap. And it probably got screwed with, or had a wire knocked loose while the transmission sensor was being serviced. I'd call whomever replaced that sensor to come get it and fix whatever they f#$ked up.

Yea, i fully intend to call the idiots at the ford place again TUESDAY and have them come get it... I guess i will be stuck here with no car and a Solider in my pants.... I guess thats the best way to put it..
