Sorry but......
I had one of the star tracs and other non smart phones and now have an Nexus phone running Android version 5. I will never go back....never. I can surf the web, text, send video messages, make phone calls, and use apps that are on my PC. I use a prepaid plan which means I have no contract so if my carrier does not act the way I think they should I can switch. However this does mean that I have to buy my phone the way most of the world does...it is not subsidized by the carrier.
I prefer this because if you think about it when you get a new phone with a 2 year contract, part of your monthly payment is going toward the phone hardware. After 2 years, you are still paying the same amount of money except that the phone hardware is now paid off. The phone carriers are making extra money off of you every month.
Very happy with my phone and with the Android system I am using. I can even surf the web on my pc and have the same web sites open on my phone so I can continue to surf on the phone if I want to.
Not going back to the older phones anytime soon. It's nice to be nostalgic but not at the expense of being left behind in the dust by technology advancements.
