Endora Seger:
Does it need much work?
Robert, I will guess from an extra medium to a maximum
maximum amount of work will be required, I don't have of much
of a "grease thumb". Perhaps you and Neal could vacation in my
back yard in the '61 Airstream this summer. Between checking out the local points of interest you could offer some tips!

Wow!

Wow, what a great find!! That is the first washer my mom had. Ours was white and my aunt had a turquoise set just like it. I was born in 62. That really brings back some memories. Does anyone around here have one of those they would like to part with??

DKS

Wow, Dick I knew your name was Dick Stevenson but I didn't know your middle name was Kenmore. I am really pleased for you to be finding so many models, all in one year. The beauty of it all is being able to use the newly aquired rebuild knowledge over and over.
As you know, the Pink GE you traded is the same model as the one I bought from high school speech teacher in 1967 for $25.oo. I learned all of it idosyncracies and was amazed we had an Automatic after years of not even having running water. We used it for three years, but draining the wash water after one use made my mom nuts. I bought a GE V-12 with a suds saver and mom traded the 60 GE to my aunt for a rocking chair. You couldn't kill it. It washed for my aunt until 1979 when she traded it in on a matching Whirlpool set.

Kelly,

Please tell me how does the washtub 'overflow' when you push the water saver button on the right side of the control panel, and the tub does not fill to the top?

I remember my aunt having that exact machine. It was a workhorse.

Pushing My buttons

There is a small cone shaped opening under the agitator that lets a small amount of water trickle through to the outer tub. It makes a gasping sound then all at once it spits out accumulated water and then more gasping. It Filter-Flos more like a creek in the August sun.
