Hey all!
Happy 2012 to everyone, a few days into it....
Funny thing happened today, that went better than I expected, but as some know and I've mentioned on here before, I keep most of my machines in two spots in our company warehouses. The space allocated to me is nearly full, and I don't want to push my luck with the company's hospitality. My boss said "Have you counted how many machines you have"?!? I think he was thinking "borderline hoarder". Indeed...
He didn't say I had to get rid of any, only that he thought I was going to leave and go into the washer business full time. He was joking, but point taken. I have a lot of washers and I'll probably not dig into all of them, at least not properly. So I may as well start working on thining the supply so some can go out the way they came in - in the hands of a collector or two (or ten as it may be).
So, without being properly armed with pictures, I thought I'd mention a few things that I have, which I know need to go to other homes:
1) First, I have about 20 1980s Whirlpools. A few are standard capacity, manual filter models, many are LA7680s, which are called 'Supreme' on the panels. I want to keep one standard, and one large capacity, and that's it on the WPs. The rest are open to speaker-uppers.
2) I have a lot of 1980s Kenmore black panel machines. I mean a lot. In fact, I have 9 of one model alone, in four colors - white, almond, gold, and toast.
3) I have a couple 1983 model Lady Kenmore washers.
4) In more vintage items, I have a 1965 Whirlpool two speed, two cycle machine that I've owned for nearly 20 years. It needs a timer. I also have a 1972 Lady Kenmore set in Coppertone that were in service until 2009/2010. I have a 1969 Kenmore 700 in white, and a 1967 Kenmore concealed console pair (the ones where the console cover slides to hide the controls).
5) I have a nearly unusued 1965 Kenmore 800 dryer, gas. I have a very well used 1963 Kenmore 600 dryer too.
There are more as well. Rather than take a bunch of pictures and hear a lot of "Oh if only I were closer" yada yada, I thought I would post this on here, and see if there is any genuine interest.
Most of the 1980s machines are direct from the Phoenix area and are absolutely rust-free, and often low use snow-bird machines. I know some need repairs, some probably do not. As of right now these machines are un-repaired, though I can fix a few during the year, etc. My time is limited.
If anyone is interested, please e-mail me on the site. That is the best way to reach me as I cannot check hotmail during the day. You can try my hotmail account ([email protected]) however I don't check that daily. You can always reply in this thread of course as well. My aim is to thin the duplicates and get some folks some good belt-drives. The clean, unrusted nature of the Arizona machines is wonderful if you've ever dealt with rusty machines. Most all I have I rescued from a krusher somewhere....
In most cases, all I want for these is what I have in them, which is anywhere from nothing to $50 or so for transportation. I did buy a few sets, but let me know anything you may be interested in, and we can discuss. Ask for specific pics and I will gladly take them.
Thanks! All the best in 2012 to everyone!
Gordon
