A video about modern appliances compared to old fashioned methods: "Den elektrifiserte husmor" literally translated the electrified house mother. lol There is a part about Evalet washing machines, including a demonstration of the spinner on water pressure.

Those two turbilators must certainly have washed up a storm in that small wash tub. I wonder did they use a similar system in the larger wringer machines or would it have been a more conventional agitator.

Seems to be complete kitchens too. I think that is a Philips vacuum cleaner in the janitorial cabinet

In the first video you can see a wringer washer with an agitator at 5.10 into the video.

The Evalet kitchen is great. And don't you love that multifunctional sink?

Agitator Washer

Of course there was an agitator washer - OK I only watched the video once! The film certainly gave a truth to the expression "better than having to beat the clothes on a rock!"

Going back to that agitator machine, i think the wringer was made by Acme - it looks identical to to the one on my Vactric wringer washer

Those sinks with the cutout seem to be a uniquely Norwegian conceit. I've never seen them elsewhere.

They also had weird appliance brands, like ITT refrigerators.

We saw the sink with the cutout in a Swedish ad about Evalet washing machines, posted by Alistair in the Swedish thread on 4/18/2022. Perhaps that commercial was made in Norway?

We had a power fialure

all night and day into late Tuesday afternoon. I began thinking of life before elctricity. From pumping well water and boiling it on a wood stove for bathing, and laundry. Can you imagine washing diapers? I guess people had incinerators to burn garbage.
Trapsing all over the house lighting and extinguishing oil lamps, then later gas.
No wonder they didn't live as long. Life was a ton of manual labor.
