The usual wet and cold day at work started off rather well in some respects, this very nice Frigidaire spin dryer was there.

Looks to be in good conditon i will try it out tomorrow hopefully.

Now much later something else came in that is not in my normal line of collectables but this is very smart and tidy and it appealed to me, i shall refer to it as the "The Item" and i will reveal it at a later date :-)

Wow...

Frigidaire it is...Andy wasnt teasing us then...LOl, I thought he must have seen it as he wouldnt have known the original colour!!!

It is one of the first Frigidaire Spinners made here, 2,800rpm lovely vitreous tub, nowthen the "Automatic" have never seen that before which makes it even rarear...does it have a timer switch on the back then??

Is the rubber water flume in good condition??

"The Item" previously known as a ******** **** sounds very interesting!!!, looking forward to seeing it again!!!

Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike...

I have this model and the only thing "automatic" about it is that once the lid is closed, the 4-minute timer is activated. One thing i know is they are dam heavy !!

Keith

Update

I tried out the spinner today (not for 4 minutes though) and it works, very smooth and quiet in operation.

Keith & Mike

Yes it is heavy, but as you say it has a loveley cast base, there are no controls at all so As you say Keith perhaps it has the 4 timer inside, thanks for that i will try it out when i am next at the garage.

I am glad you like it, i must say its styling is very pleasant

Damage
The oultet flume whilst it is still soft it does have a split in it underneath, this could be repaired easily.

A very nice machine thanks for your comments.
Gary

Ps THE ITEM
Doesnt work but no worries i will have a look at it some time

Hi Gary

Another 'Good nik - took to tip' machine.

Good save! Looks lovely and glad all appears to be mechanically in order.

Garage filling up again. lol.

Nice spin dryer Gary. Looks very sixties, wouldn't look out of place alongside a Hoover Constellation of the time. The styling reminds me of a Constellation in weird way.

James.

ShiningLight,

First of all, greetings from Wausau, WI. This is a spin-drier. They are used to extract more water from laundered items than what your washer does. The spout in the front of the spinner is where the extracted water discharges. As previously mentioned, this thing spins @ 2800rpm. Laundry should be practically dry after a "spin" in this baby.

Have you ever gone to the polkafest held in your town every 2nd weekend in July?

Hi Handsome, great spinner. Now don't forget to get the best from it you must wear high heels and an apron when using it

That’s good, it’s a runner, I would have turned it into a cooler if it did not run, line the spin can with plastic then fill the spin can with ice, place a nice bottle of plonk in the ice to cool, when not used to cool wine I would place a nice lamp on top in the corner of the room, sort of an occasional table.

Far too top heavy Rich to be teetering about in 6" courts, but thanks for the offer :-)

A bloody plant pot! How very dare you! :-)

No, not a plant pot, a drinks cooler much more useful than a bloody plant pot.

I get your point; if some one was to put plants in my small collection I would go bloody mad tooooo.

My Apologies.

Sorry, I’m a secret alcoholic you see. Well I give up the fags 14 days and 6 mins 23 seconds ago so what else is there.
