Sorry Dan, that's a picture of someone's Westy from the club...I can not remember who.
I usually shop around for the best price to get my parts. This fabric softener dispenser part is from repairclinic.com. The part number is 5303310293 and the deep ramp agitator in (white) part number is 5300166192, just in case...the true blue is prettier
I can't wait until you make a 'Bobload' maximum washload video with the WestingQueen.
Jon (jons1077) made a video of his 1972 White Westinghouse and the washer tub (2.7 or 2.8 cu ft) handled 8 large bath towels (25" x 60"), 5 hand towels and a washcloth. With the 3.3 cu ft stainless steel and deep ramps partnered, could probably handle at least 5 or 6 more towels.

Cool conversion how fun to see a vintage agitator in another washer. Some of the members here could make adptors so that various different agitators could be installed in new SQs.
Your Westinghouse agitator works better in the SQ than it did in the orignal WH washer mostly due to the lack of a silly indexing wash basket that WH had, however the SQ agitator would still turn over a really heavy load better as ramp style agitators while fun to watch were never great at turning big JOHN loads, LOL.

I've seen a video of a large (standard) capacity GE washer using the high ramp agitator washing and turning over 24 polo short sleeve shirts. I completely amazed that it circulated the entire load of shirts throughout the wash cycle.
Harry....there is a sort of apples to oranges comparison alone in just comparing a standard capacity GE Filterflo, and a large capacity.....both using ramps, and equal loads to tub size comparison....that smaller size will move a load better....and most likely because the ramps dont continue to swirl to the top, they actualy straighten up for the increased capacity...not to mention that one speed kick ass compared to a two speed......
I have a one speed, non slip clutch, large capacity now, that has better turnover than its two speed brother....whowold have thought that little bit of extra torque makes a difference....this is what I am used to from my mothers V12...
changing out agitators is fun....and seeing the differences, this one I did to the Maytag, not so bad, but a ramp would have worked better in my opinion because of the slower stroke and slippage of the belt....vane all the way up compared to a Powerfin seemed to have slowed it down a bit

I can't wait, so looking forward to it. It'll be excellent, no indexing washtub and the 210 degree agitating stroke...the dual is on. NEVER thinking it would be possible to see Westinghouse's (spiral/swirl) ramp agitator in action without the indexing tub, you made it work. Did I tell you you're awesome...you're AWESOME!!! Now I'll work on getting a Speed Queen washer.scrubflex

Dan, here is the SWIRL-Ramp Agitator and the GENTLE Care Agitator in white. The deep ramp outer surface "ribbing" and "low verticle vanes" are suppose to create a 'dragging' water current adding 'extra suction' on the back-stroke PLUNGE and ROLL...preventing less SLIPPAGE and TOSS AROUND of the load on the forth-stroke...pretty cool, right.

Dan, are you going to let us know how you designed the deep ramp to fit the Speed Queen washtub? I'm dying to know...I've been wrecking my brains trying to figure it out, how much would it cost, etc.

Diddo...Yogi the Whirlpool is working again...I think the lid switch is loose, pressed backward and sqeezed the switch together, set the lid level in place under the cabinet top and prestoooo...working again...waiting for those videos Dan
Sorry for the long delay...here's how I created the WQ!
Sorry for the long delay--have had some work and family issues that have taken priority...I've been offline for a good while.
I wanted to wait until I could draw fancy pictures, but I simply don't have time.
1. I took a SQ flex agitator and "de-finned" it.--Removing the sides fins as well.
2. I chopped off the head of the agitator, JUST BELOW where the fabric softener dispenser holes are, but above the interior of where the agitator slips over the bell, or drive shaft--not sure what it's called.
3. At this point it was a gamble that the ramp agitator would even fit over my newly formed "washplate", but it did, with precision. I had previously held the bottoms of the two together to see if they were the same diameter.
4. I wanted the "washplate" style so that the agitator would match the SQ drive shaft/bell and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
5. Now, how to get the ramp agitator on the SQ. After making sure the ramp would "sit" on top of the SQ, Luckily, there were three mounting screws in the Westinghouse that held on a guide of sorts that apparently kept the agitator centered on the shaft/pole. I removed this and used the same three screws and screwed UP from the bottom of the SQ "washplate" into the ramp agitator. That alignment (with limited tools and assistance) was tricky.
6. I had to find away to keep the agitator cap on--this was a bit more tricky. I ended up drilling a hole in the SQ agitator in the areas that was left from the bell/drive areas and where the fabric softener area had ended. I then got a cut piece of metal (threaded, thank you Lowe's), that matched the thread of the original screw in the agitator cap, sent it up through the SQ and ramp agitator and screwed on the cap. This turned out to help snug everything up nicely.
I love this configuration--I can only do the equivilant to a medium SQ load since the agitator is smaller--for things like blankets. But if the load is big and has a lot of individual items (socks, shirts), she does a commanding job.
I expect it to eventually come apart from rusting of the parts, but for right now, I get a smile on my face every time I do a load of whites, low water, splashy action and the smell of original Tide in the air (detergents always smell better in hot water). It could be 1978 all over again.
Sorry if I rambled...ask any questions you would like...also taking requests for new videos.

Simply AMAZING Dan, you're awesome and thanks you so much for the 'how-to' and 'step-by-step' instruction guide. I really appreciate your brilliance and hard work figuring how to make it work..."I can only do the equivalent to a medium SQ load since the agitator is smaller", what do you mean by that?...the small tapering off of the ramps look like they extend beyond the SS washtub rim--seems big enough.
One cool video to see would be agitating action for 'each' LOAD SIZE up to the maximum (fill-to-the-rim) water level. Starting from MINI to SMALL and so on, up to the MAX fill---clothes optional.
Also, a 'how many towels at a time' video---the 3.3 cu.ft and deep ramp agitator can wash-rinse and spin video.
Dan, they aren't many videos of mini and small water level wash loads, so mixed, whites and darks will be nice...sheets, blankets and jeans are always awesome.
And, maybe someone in the club have a spare pretty blue (2-in-1) deep ramp and hand wash agitator to sell you. Thanks again, Dan

I am sure that agitator works better in a SQ than it did in the WH, the agitation of a ramp agitator in a washer with an indexing tub is not only pathetic but it makes you dizzy to watch it, LOL.
One of the AW members in Cleveland Oh. area has put a Km roto-swrirl agitator in a MT 806 that has a 50 cycle motor pulley on it and it is really amazing what an improvement it makes in the washing ability while actually being more genital on the clothing. I will try to get him to post a video as well.
