The first organ I ever remember having. (had a thomas from the 50s until I was 3)

Some people just dont understand. The organ store here said they usually just part em out and pitch the rest when they come in by the truckload.

Do they pitch them out because they weren't good organs from the start? Or is it because there were just so many of them out there?

Both actually.

Kimball organs is what ruined the huge Conn organ company. They literally produced 2 organs (released at the same time) and sold very few, the discontinued Conn organs all together.

A real shame. Conn was a fantastic company until kimball came along. The last conn/kimball organ was a good organ, but the kimball parts stuck out like a sore thumb. lol.

Kimballs were renowned to be cheaply built. Their pianos were good entry level instruments, their organs sounded not so good. They discontinued organs after not even 20 years of building them.

I had it for sale at $50 for 2 months and finally gave it away after no hits, to a local charity.
