Speed Queen Combo

I'd like to share a fantastic find with you. 1962 Speed Queen combo! I can't take any credit for finding this, that goes to my friend James (114jwh) who alerted me to a local Craigslist ad. It was advertised as non-functional which was correct. This this was a beast to move at 380 lbs. As always with these vintage machines there is both good news and bad news but all things can be overcome and this machine can be brought back to life. The machine came out of an older 1950's home which was going to be demolished by the new owner. He thought it was unique enough to save rather than send it to the crusher. So for a whole $20 the machine now resides here.

Congrats once again on this Eddy - it really is in incredible cosmetic condition, all the parts are there and I'm confident it will wash and dry clothes once again! I'm quite certain the previous owners didn't use this much. It never ceases to amaze me what still shows up once in a blue moon - especially something as rare as this. I also can't think of a more deserving new owner

What I think is really fantastic and about this machine is the footprint and the spin speed. At less than 26" wide, this fits in the same space as most standard washers and spinning at 515 RPM should give you some decent water extraction. The nice lighted panel is icing on the cake too!

Can't wait to see this in action!
