Speed Queen / Huebsch with Tweaked Water Levels

Hello everyone.

Jetcone had posted a brief video earlier of his Speed Queens washing with really high water levels. (ie. The water line being up to the bottom of the glass in the door.)

From what I've read, the point to front loaders is to pull the clothing through a highly concentrated "Puddle" of Detergent and water. My thought was, by increasing the water level, the concentration is lowered.

So, I'd like to ask four things:
1. Can anyone (Jetcone?) post a good video of a tweaked SQ doing a wash cycle with the higher water levels?
2. How do you find tweaking your SQ/Huebsch machine changed its washing and rinsing performance?
3. How much is too much? (How little is too little?)
4. What would you think if Alliance added an option for an adjustable water level, like what they have in their top loaders, but adjusted for front loaders? (Or maybe a three position switch, normal, heavy and bedding?)

Anyway, opinions? When I have some time this long weekend, I'll see if I can post a video of my machine..

Just thought I'd add this here to clarify what I meant in my previous post...

For the three positions....

Normal - Would be factory water level, like what came with the machine originally. Would be good for most kinds of loads.
Heavy - Would fill up to the point where the water completely covers the paddle and is slightly below the rim of the inner tub. This would be ideal for things like washing lots of items which soak up lots of water or for very heavily soiled fabrics.
Bedding - This would fill up to the level shown on Jetcones machine, ideal for things like pillows, comforters, etc... or for when a very strong rinse is needed.

Maybe we should start a wish list thread for the SQ FL machines. I have a few enhancements I would like to see incorporated.

Higher water levels in the main wash are not per definition better. If the water level is too high, clothes will not longer tumble, but roll over. The tumbling of the clothes is part of the cleaning action, comparible to beating clothes on a rock like they did for many ages.

If the water level is too high, the clothes will not fall on the side of the drum, but in the water. This is less effective, comparable to beating clothes on a rock that is under the water level, not above.

European frontloaders have delicate cycles with higher water levels. The water cushions the laundry, it doesn't get a tumbling as on a regular cycle. The delicate cycles are less effective in regard to cleaning, but is better for delicate items. Your proposed heavy setting could be called delicate too.
