Speed Queen series 8 normal ECO mode question

Hello Everyone,
I have a speed queen series 8. With the rising costs of EVERYTHING I’m wondering if anyone uses normal ECO mode exclusively on their machines? For the last 4 years I’ve been using every other cycle as I like the idea of a full tub wash and rinse. But…. I am considering using the normal ECO mode exclusively as a way to cut down on my water consumption. I do between 10-15 loads a week.

On a side note. Touch wood- my machine has worked flawlessly for 4.5 years now. What might be the first thing to crap out on the machine. Due to supply shortages of parts here in Canada I’d love to have what I need on hand in the event that it is needed.

Normal Eco and TC5

Normal Eco is my favorite cycle especially for a half load. Choose "Heavy Soil" option, and I get a longer wash and whatever water temp I choose. The spray rinse is adequate. I also spin dry them before placing on a shorter dry cycle. Spin drying with a Panda or Ninja reduces dry time by at least half and often more.

That is the most frustrating thing about the Maytag mvwp575gw that I also own. The Normal Eco on it is too rough for delicates, the wash time to short for anything but a quick wash, and hot is kind of warm. If you run full loads and just need to use the one small load size for quick washes, it's a fantastic washer.

These so-called eco restrictions that took away the load selector, hot water, enough water, etc. result in more water, chemical, time, etc. Appliances are cheaply built and wind up in the landfill much sooner now. Though well-intentioned, it wasn't actually researched or thought through.

With rising cost, I am very mindful of utility usage.
