twintubber

Hi Barco....
Unfortunately, I got very busy shortly after my last videos of the machines and didn't have much time for twintubbing for a while.
A few months ago, I decided to pull the Simplicity out and give it a good run for the afternoon.
I was filling the spin tub up to rinse out the dust that had accumulated and noticed the water level going DOWN after I turned the water off.
UH OH!!!
Took the back off to check for leaking and found nothing.
Filled the spin tub up again about a quarter full and saw the water draining out again.
This time I saw subtle leaking under the spinner in the bottom of the machine and when I felt underneath I could feel a leak at the seal point.
The seal must have dried out and since it had sat dry for so many years, then got a lot of use, then dried out again was perhaps a bit too much for it at it's age.
Too bad, but I don't think it will be too much of an issue to keep an eye out for parts and eventually find one or a Band-Aid job of some sort.
I miss using it though cause it sure is a lot of fun albeit very time consuming, and outcleans my Bosch front-loader any day.
And again Mr-maytag, enjoy using your new toy and let's see some videos!
