Well, after eight years of good use, the transmission on my Speed Queen top-loader seized.
(It would spin but not agitate / locks up completely)
Fortunately, the transmission has a ten year parts warranty.
The friendly, nearby Speed Queen dealer is here now to replace it. It is 9:16 AM. Let's see how long it takes!

10:30 AM all done

With the bill paid, at 10:30 AM serviceman was out the door.
Back in business.
That being said I was impressed by the turn time. I called the machine repair in on Saturday and they scheduled me for the following Monday. Since the serviceman also does commercial Speed Queen, they only had the short-tub transmission on the truck. Oops. I have a tall-tub.
Rescheduled for Wednesday morning. All done by 10:30 am.

wonderful that it all is fixed for you....and your back in business with low down time.....

I haven't been to a laundromat in a while, but I did't know the commercial units had smaller tubs.....interesting

Learned something new...

Although I did give them the model and serial while scheduling the service call, I suppose I could have specified "tall tub".
I trust though that this will likely be the last tranny I need for a while.

Short tub

I did not know the commercial machines had a smaller tub either-- until today when George was here to replace a timer on my top loader speed queen. He mentioned the commercial machins had a shorter tub, but they have the same motor-- Makes sense. You know how some people can cram a machine full of clothes. If the machine has a smaller tub it means less clothes and less strain on the motor.
