I have a Speed Queen wringer from the early 90's that releases tension when I am wringing clothes. There seems to be a lot of movement when the wringer is in the locked position and moves a bit when I am wringing. The wringer is not overloaded with clothes as I am doing this.
Have any of you had the same problem and what did you do to correct it? Thanks for your help. Gary

If I remember correctly, my great-aunt had this same problem and it was one of the springs that help keep tension/pressure on the top roller.  Hope this helps (shrugs shoulders).

I had the same problem

years ago with the wringer. Every time you put anything in it it would pop. I would hold the handle up in the lock postion while I ran clothes thru it... it was a pain but it kept if from popping. I coundn't figure out what was casuing it. I finally got rid of it and while I loved the washing action and the look of the machine I hated the wringer. I would love to get another one if it would not do this.
