Speed Queen

Just splurged on Speed Queen FL. Beautiful machine. Have done less than 10 loads. However, vibration seems to be getting worse on fast spin cycle (video link to youtube). Hubby did tighten front legs lock before first use, which was not done by installer. Not sure if back legs were locked.

For a non techie person like me, machine seems pretty close to level- pix attached. Is that within acceptable limits?
will be a bear to adjust as it weighs 260 lbs & squeezed in betw cabinets & dryer.

That's good.  It's much more important for the weight to be evenly supported at all four corners than for it to be 100% bubble-level.

Try adjusting one of the front corners up/down a smidgeon at a time until the vibration is minimized.

Are you sure you have removed all pieces of the shipping material?
When I set up our new AEG a few weaks ago I almost forgot a plastic spacer right in plain sight. Even small pieces can cause the transfer of vibrations.

What were you washing in that video? Did the washer take longer then expected, or did the load feel more damp?
Could have been just a few particulary bad to balance loads, though, that's unlikely.

Do the feets have counter screws to keep the feet in their set position?
Maybe on of those loosend and causes on leg to not quite touch the surface beneath.

It took me about 5 loads until I properly adjusted our new machine. Leveling any applaince is a verry annoying task, and certanly requires some training.
I'm verry bad it.

If none of these points seem to apply, and you are sure you did 100% everything according to manual during setup, and nobody else can help you on here, a service call would be a good idea, especially if it starts acting up straight away.
You warranty will not cover setup mistakes if you made them, but if they can't proof you did something wrong to your knowledge, they'll have to look into it.
If you contact them, include that video, so they have video proof of that problem. Better so, if the problem occurs, take video of it spinning and you unloading it, so they can't give you the "overloaded" or "tangeled load" excuse.

Henene4 - by "counter screw" do you mean the nut that should have been locked once leg is adjusted?

I showed dealer agent my video. He wasn't impressed, said they all vibrate. I told him getting worse & I didn't think was leveled or leg locked at installation. . So I think original installer boys to come back & do it. Hmm. I really want to love this machine!

Yeah, some type of nut that screws against the bottom of the machine, locking the feet in their position.

Put the front skirt back on. It's part of the body integrity. Mine shook till I put that back on all snug.

Hi. I found this link which explains how to level correctly. There is also information about the dipswitch settings allowing for extra water as well as disabling energy efficiency settings for the frontloader (not tried it myself tho!)

Thanks for posting the manual.
It's a pretty thorough document.

Looks like there is a grouping of cycles with ridiculously long wash times on board as well.

Should not vibrate like that

I have 2 SQ FL's now and neither vibrates at all once the balancing routine is finished. It should spin as smoothly as a ballerina gliding on ice once it finishes balancing. It needs to be leveled better and the leg locks must be tightened. Also the front panel needs to be on and screwed tight. Finally, are you loading it correctly? The tub should be full or nearly full of clothes -- loosely added not packed. Only exception is four pairs of jeans/half filled dry is OK . Is your floor weak? Pull the dryer out so you can reach back and level the washer's rear legs and lock the nuts without moving the washer. Level the rear legs first. Then extend front legs enough to keep it from rocking. If it is not level front to back on both sides then adjust accordingly. Then if washer has to be pulled out to attach dryer vent, mark place on floor where the feet are so you can reposition it exactly as before. With lock nuts tightened the feet should not change position.
