Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Indeed, the Zanussi went out with a bang so to say within 29 days of the 28 day return policy! Probably a dodgy motor, but for the last week we had it, it was making a progressively worse sparking noise as it spun and then on it's last spin cycle, it was sparking so bad, was struggling to get up to 1400rpm at the end and then the circuit breaker flicked - so I presume the motor had overloaded or something. Mother dearest marched along to Currys, got the machine returned and then asked me "Which is the best model Miele to get?". Of course, I pointed her towards one of the high end models, and so it was delivered yesterday and it's been working very hard :-). Is very very quiet - I'm certain the freezer is louder than the washer during the spin cycle! Because of the brushless induction motor, it sounds like a commercial washer during the spin, i.e. no motor noise at all, just the sound of the drum moving. Even quieter than my own Miele upstairs!

Moral of the story - Never recommend a Zanussi to your parents when they initially offer to buy a Miele; as it always comes back to bite your ass! (Although, the consequences did bring a new Miele washer to play with so not all that bad). But I'm never going to hear the end of recommending a washer to mum that broke within a month!

It's a shame about the Zanussi really, a nice machine for a nice price. I personally would have replaced it with another, but hey who's complaining!

Pics to follow,

Looks Great...

I Cant wait to come use it :-D or at least see it in action :-D

I wanna persuade mum into one now :-P LOL

Take Care
Dan

Oh, and it is a new Miele mum has by the way. Mine still happily whirrs away up here 5 or 6 times a week, strictly out of bounds from the rest of the family and has to be activated via a pin code so as to operate it :-D.

Congratulations Jon!!!!

Hiya!, I must addmit your new Miele looks absoutley stunning!!::D, what an upgrade from the Zanussi IMO lol!! The controls and interior/drum light look amazing all lit up:)It looks like such a quality machine, the design looks like its been very carefully thought out and the outcome is great!. It makes me want one even more! Hope you have many years of fun with this machine (sure you will)

O...M...G!!!!!!!! Jon, forget what I said about not liking the knobs, this machine is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that the drum is lit up!!!!! That should make it a lot easier to videotape... ;) I'm surprised that you haven't tried to get mom to trade machines so you can have that one in your room!!!! NICE!!!

It's a beautiful machine! And they must be very quiet; Consumer Reports gives only the Miele they tested an Excellent rating for quietness. Every other brand of FL'er gets a Very Good or Good rating.

Two things keep me from considering a Miele---capacity and the need for a 220-volt outlet. Three things, actually. The nearest dealer is over 100 miles from me. They are beautiful, well-made machines--- truly works of fine craftsmanship.

Congratulations!

Say....where the heck is Launderess? She's made herself conspicuous by her absence, lately. If a new Miele washer in a British-based thread doesn't draw her out I'm sending the FBI to look for her, LOL!

Good stuff Jon

That machine looks the business. How does it compare to your Miele in terms of cycles / noise / performance etc etc. What made you buy that one and not one of the new design Mieles?

Regards

Nick
