This will be a long post. I will try and break it up in a couple of posts.
On Thursday, May 8th, I left work and picked up a loaded trailer (I had loaded the trailer up the previous weekend with appliances. Pictures 1 and 2). I headed out from Austin, MN and only made it 100 miles down the road to La Crescent, MN. My dad and his wife live there and I stayed the night at their place.
On the trailer I had a 1959 Westinghouse refrigerator that had been delivered to me from Washington state, a Westinghouse dishwasher, Bradford washer and dryer, Westinghouse slant-front washer, Apex dryer, Hotpoint dishwasher, 2 Maytag dishwashers and 2 RCA console TVs.
Friday morning, I woke up early and headed out. I made it to South Bend, IN where I picked up a certain Poppy Red Frigidaire compactor from a collector. I headed north into Michigan. In Detroit I picked up a Westinghouse dehumidifier. Around 7:30 Friday night, I made it to Port Clinton, OH where I had a reservation for a room right on Lake Eerie. Picture 3 was the view from the hotel I stayed at.
Saturday morning, I headed out and made it to Cleveland, OH and visited "A Christmas Story" house. Neat place. The remainder of the pictures are from the house. The movie supposedly took place in 1940, but the Maytag washer and the Kirby vacuum are a bit too new for it.
