Spring = Pink!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yay for the archives! I like the 59 styling better. The pushbuttons are to die for...

Pretty in Pink

What a find - these hardly look from 1959; thanks to whoever took care of those.
...pushbuttons have always been fun - our '57 Mercury had a set, but it didn't wash and dry. :-)

..Enjoyed your photo journey - vids to come maybe?

Can this get any better?

Still trying to apprehend the time line and main dial on Mark's 59--does it simply turn and not press in or pull out? Endless fascination.

Leaf springs in pink Spring.....Oh Ben, you animal ;'D

Mike - I believe the dial on Mark's '58 washer still activates by a push/pull.  The chain-driven timeline tape replaces a pointed indicator traveling along a 360 degree plane, but the mechanism still works the same.

Phil - it might be awhile before you guys get to see some action videos, but check out the test video I posted earlier in this thread of push button timers.

Good heavens!!

Sorry to drift off-topic, but that 'Think Pink' number HAD to be the inspiration for the 2000 Eatons Department store re-launch ad!!

Fast forward the video to about 1:55 into it and you'll see the finale of three commercials that were aired in November of 2000. Hardly anyone saw the first two ads and when the third one was aired, it confused people even more...

The similarities to 'Think Pink' are pretty remarkable.

Ben - forgive me - I'm not hijacking your thread, honest...
