Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Location not withstanding that washer is going for big bucks.

Bidders must be local or maybe close by in Canada. Cannot even imagine shipping costs for a major appliance being sent down south or even to certain areas of Canada.

Good news is the thing is still NIB and crated, which solves some issues. Long as machine is just that we can assume it remains crated and packed inside for shipping same as when left factory.

Then again we do have members in British Columbia, Vancouver, Washington and Oregon, so who knows....

New inbox, Speed Queen wringer washer

I imagine this will go between three and $600, one of my customers in Georgetown drove all the way up to Philadelphia to pick up one of the last Speed Queen ringer washer she could find this was around 1995, she had had a 1967 Speed Queen ringer washer that she used up until this time but it was just getting tired.

When she got the 90s machine, she had me uncrate and install it and get it all set up it was remarkably more cheaply built than the 60s WW and they had a number of problems with it in the next few years. She finally after one of her trips to Greece came back and said she’s ready for an automatic. I got her a 2005 Speed Queen front load washer, which is still working perfectly today never has had a service call. The older lady passed away at 100. Her daughter is still in the house using the Speed Queen front load washer.

Even though they’re not as rugged as they once were this new in the box, one would still be a great machine for somebody that wants a wringer washer and doesn’t want to have to restore one.

Good luck to whoever is bidding

Buyers Beware and a CHALLENGE ~

Launderess, Call in the troops to see if someone can decode the label. If this is an end of the line model, it is not a great machine; if by a grand stroke of luck it is an earlier model, then by all means.....

Later model: Pump sucks--no pun intended, wringers get stuck in the forward position and will not disengage, no timer, and thus no motor kill except by plug yank. I have one of these and it ranks as one of the worst performers.

Earlier model: Pumps sucked even then, SQ WW's perennial weak point, wringer is almost indestructible, the timer just won't quit, and the motor kill never fails, and with the stainless steel tubs, it's a really nice machine.

Haven't used the former is years, ready for a giveaway, while the latter is an ocassional riot with the 4 paddle Norge agitator briskly awash.

So which one is in that box, Jon, John, Bem, Glenn, Melvin? I lack the knowledge to know. One of you, plural, does not.
