Hi. I'm new here. My name is Matthew and my favourite machines have to be Hoover Electrons, Logics and Ecologics. I currently have a 1992 Hoover Ecologic Washer Dryer 1000 and I love it, but I've always dreamed of an Electron or Logic 800. I'm not particularly interested in fast spins so thats why I'd like an 800 model. Does anyone have any pictures of Electrons, Logics or Ecologics?

Welcome

Hi there Matthew

I hope you enjoy this site, it's full of great people!

I bought this Electron a few months back. It's an A3346 and dates from 1986. I can't say I'm nuts on the programming as it only has one interim spin. I've got some more pics at home I can post tomorrow.

Here is a pic of it and a link to my youtube page, Buxtedlad.

Hi Mathew

Welcome to the club, lots to read & vids to see, heres a pic of my Electron 1100, unfortunately I havnt got one from the first square door series the Electronic!!! just waiting for that in the keymatic or selectamatic style!!!FAB machines and ohh that water level, I had forgotten how high up the door it comes, I thought it had a fault until it stopped filling.

Enjoy the pics n vids, here a link to mine, cheers, Mike

Thanks Guys

The Electron Posted in RobM's second pic is my favourite design. I remember using one like that at a Holiday home when i was a kid. The spin sequence on your electron sounds the same as my ecologic, lots of water goes in the wash before drain, then two deep rinses with slow woolens programme tunbling, a slow (400rpm?) spin then two more rinses, the last rise starts off low then fills higher and the fabric conditioner is added. Last spin I think ramps up to 800rpm then goes up 1000rpm. love the water level on that machine and sound of the motor, I even like how much it can wobble on an off blance spin. Wish they still made machines like this. My mum's whirlpool barely rinses the clothes and takes 2 and a half hours to do a cottons wash!!! Don't even get me started on the out of balance sensor. I'll post pics of my machines as soon as i can!!! I think I'm going to have fun here. I never thought I'd meet people who share my interest in washing machines.

as for my aunts toploader...

All I know is that she got it (and the matching dryer) new when they moved to the states in 1983. They had black control panels and the lid on the washer was hinged to the side. The door on the dryer opened downwards. She gave this set to my cousin and they're still going strong! Something tells me they could have been Kenmores but I can't be certain. Sorry I can't tell you more about them.

Whilst I dont have ..

An Electron I am lucky enough to own one of its "Posh relations".

Will take some better pics tomoz :)

Oh forgot to link this.....

Fab Ad for the slightly earlier black control panel version of mine!- I was roughly the same age as the kid at the time and id have been transfixed exactly the same lol!

Door open (excuse the floor, it an old wash house). The machine isn't really that close to that wall, it just appears that way.

Finally the interior at the back. One problem I have had with this machine is a slightly twisted drum.

Rob

It needs an Anti Twist /suspension repair kit- my A3308 needs to be done as well.

The kit is obsolete as genuine but Qualtex still make a pattern version.

I have several stocked up mail me if ya fancy giving it a go lol!

Hi Matthew.
Welcome to the club - you will have many hours of fun here. I joined about a year ago and have nothing but nostalgic fun, fun and more fun.

Now your thread pains me in a way, as it comes two days after my landlord informed me that the internet connection at my home would be down for probably three weeks. Perfectly timed to frustrate me as loads of great threads have just been established in which I am desperate to post piccies. This thread in particular is one of them!

If/when my internet connection is started again, I will try and post some piccies for you - widebody 1960's Hoover frontloaders, matchboxes and A3060 series machines from the 1970s and A3110 series, Electrons, Logics and Ecologics from the 1980s. All fantastic pieces of kit.

I have the guys on here to thanks for most of them and they are all founts of knowledge and great people.

I will be watching from the sidelines with great anticipation to see how this thread develops.

Cheers guys and welcome once again Matthew.
Best regards, seasons greetings and happy December to you all.
Paul
