Squeaking Sound In Whirlpool Direct Drive Washers With Couplers

What is the cause of that squeaking mouse sound in the common whirlpool 90s -2000 direct drive coupler washer in addition to the normal steam train sound when agitating and what are the remidies for this?

Bad pump

You could have a bad pump . They squeal sometimes

What do you do about that bad pump?

My Kenmore makes a similar sound...

first thing I would do is take the pump off and see if it still makes the sound.....

otherwise replace the pump.....

Maybe the pads?
