I,myself have worked on both the staber and Speed Queen(top loader)and yes, staber has absolutely no nationwide service. In fact, they have no authorised repair companies at all. They expect all the owners of their products to be able ( through their own trouble shooting/over the phone service tech. of whom there is only one.)to call them and repair and order the replacement parts themselves. There compay's customer service is on the east coast in the mainland and that's 7 hours away from here. They close at 5PM EDT and if I don't call before 11AM our time, they're already closed. That sucks because it took me over 6 hours to repair the last one because of the abusive users who used powdered detergent (not the HE type)and caused major sudslock which caused a short and made the mother board take a shit.I had to replace the mother board, the presure switch, ballance switch and readjust the sump hose because the water was backwashing into the outer tub.
The Speed Queen needs a new transmission and a plastic pully of some sourt feel right out a few weeks before the trans went.I wasn't her at the time and somebody else here just replaced the belt assuming that was the problem. That only made things worse. These people are constantly packing these and causing them to fail.we are the cheapest laundry here($2/wash---$2dry) everywhere else it's $4 and $4.
I like the SQ and will more than likely purchase them.
