Jessica Tandy & Hume Cronyn, and poor Jessica Savitch "network by 30". Did anyone else notice early in the year when the Tragedy at Jonestown anniversary occured, NBC/MSNBC didn't even mention Savitch's name, how sad, She broke into broadcast television and narrated the film unedited of the murder of the Congressman and his party, at Jonestown. Jessica Savitch made it to network before she was 30, and drowned in a car that overturned in a ditch.

I had no idea that many people on this website knew who Florence Ballard was!She died,pennyless on the OR table during open heart surgery.197?.In my opinion,she was the most beautiful of all the Supremes and the cover of their album ,"I Hear a Symphony", shows her in a sort of inocent looking way and it became one of my favorite albums in my collection of 14 different vinal and cd albums I have aquired since 1965.I just recently,during my rainy weekend off,played 3 different albums. "The Supremes A-Go-Go","I Hear A Symphony" and "Diana Ross and the Supremes Greatest Hits".The nice woman in an apartment above mine,Sally, came down(She's a beautiful native Hawaiian girl)and not only jammed with me but helped me organize my unit,put everything away,danced with me and made some great fish tacos.She and her husband,Willy,fish a lot and always bring me samples of their catch!Anybody here remember the song "Put Yourself in My Place"? It was on the flip side of a 45 record, "You can't Hurry Love" and also on "The Supremes A-Go-Go".

Florence Ballard...

...battled many demons both personal and professional (including Diana Ross and Berry Gordy). She was the strongest voice of the original Supremes. If you're not familiar with her, do some searching online - one the surface she appears to be a rags -riches - rags story but really never backed down from what she wanted personally - a solo career.

In a side note - I love the Supremes album covers but really love the Lincoln Center poster from 1965.

I've been Patsified (name of a Patsy website) since 1985 when the movie Sweet Dreams came out as poorly written as it was I would watch that movie over and over, just to listen to the music. I had the soundtrack to it on cassette, LP, and CD. I listed to the cassette so much that the tape deck ate it boy was my mom happy about that, LOL. I can listen to her all day long and have many times. Dynaflow, have you seen The Real Patsy, Remembering Patsy Cline, and Sweet Dream Still? Every year on the anniversary of her death, and her birthday I will listen to her music, and watch Coal Miner's Daughter, Sweet Dreams and the other videos I have of her. I would loved to have met her in person.

I found this footage online of the rarely seen "Supremes in the Orient" tape. Click on the link and skip to 4:20 for Flo's lead part on "People". What a haunting voice. And stunning beauty. Too bad the more mainstream shows didn't feature this.

I can't believe I forgot Estelle Getty. And Montgomery Clift was HOT! I remember seeing a picture of him sitting on a beach with really short shorts on. One of my online friends visited a hotel in California (I believe) and stayed in the room that either died in or haunted. Can't remember which now.
