Thanks Jon for the thoughtful picture. Hmm, not sure thos sound too yummy though, but fiber-rich and all, most definitelly something I should be eating. I do like my whole wheat cakes though.

A Cold, Icky Day. Perfect for baking!

I have a loaf of homemade banana bread in the oven at the moment. I followed a recipe that was on a bag of bananas but I changed it a little. I added some cinnamon, ground cloves, and nutmeg to it, just have something different.

There is an Acadian name for those pancakes and thats ployes. Nothing better than mixing them up and cooking them on a cast iron pan. Then top the off with butter. Yummy!

Sorghum

is a molasses type product from a plant called sorghum (what a surprise). The sorghum plant can survive in cooler weather than sugar cane can. It has a dark, but not forbidding flavour.

Oh Bob, you don't know what you are missing. There is nothing like homemade buckwheat pancakes, my grandmother use to make them. Oh so good!! Jon, I bet you had a great breakfast!!

Yummy to the Tummy!

Sounds so good!
I love the vintage KA Mixer!
I just have to ask....What is the cook top behind?
Looks very interesting since I need to replace ours.
Do tell Chef Jetcones.

Yum! Yum! Give me Some!

You are right sorghum is made into a syrup but I was using the sorghum flour instead of wheat flour, it adds more depth to the Buckwheat and a bit of sweetness that is not sugary.

Yes these were slathered with 100% butter and REAL NY State maple syrup from my folks town made by the Amish there.

Of course sometimes they get Floridaded! I put hot peaches and whipped cream on top --try that sometime!

Brent good eyes there, the cook top is my restored 1985 Kenmore Induction cooktop! A beauty and daily driver!
