Look at this beauty! I'll let him tell you the story about it but he's done a beautiful job restoring it and it now using it in his kitchen, one of my personal favorite O'keefe and Merritt ranges with the High-Vu feature that allows you to look into the oven from the top of the range!

Steve, did you really restore the periscope parts of the High-Vu to where it can be used to see inside the oven again? Congratulations. Use it hard and in good health. Isn't O&M the brand of range in Everybody Loves Raymond? Thanks, Greg for the picture of Steve's new treasure.

Refresh my remembery.

BrownEyedGirl, don't you have a vintage O&M as well? Or did you trade it in for something else?

That periscope thingie looks way cool!

And its GAS!!!

Yeowzers! Cool stove!

Ya'll keep posting pics. You make it hard to make a decision on which kind to get! ha!

Is it a 30"?

Field peas are good. Ate my weight in them during Hurricane Katrina. Home grown is so good, and cooking with gas is da best!

Tom, the glass ceiling of the oven was just TRASHED. It took three days of repeatedly soaking with oven cleaner and scraping with a puty knife to get all the schmootz off.
The mirror in the periscope was the easy part.

I had been using a GE Gas stove about five years old. What a POS! This old O'K&M puts that GE to shame! Really heats fast and simmers well. Will try out the oven soon and see what the baking is like. I'll do a sponge cake first. Then layers, and see how well it handles each.

Toggle, just let me know when your comming and I'll run over to the Whole Foods ( aka Whole Wallet!) grocery store and get us one of those "all orgasmic" "free-range" birds to fry.

Steve that is one beautiful range!! Congratulations! Can't wait to hear the story behind it and its restoration. That pasta carbonara sounds wonderful as well!! Terry
