When I bought my current (first) house the stove that came with it was a GE badged 30" self-cleaner of the Tappan variety.The oven looked like someone used it as a toilet!

Set knobs
Set timer
lock door
open window
wait 2 to 4 hours.

I mean REALLY people!

When I was an accountant I used to joke that my lot in life personally and professionally was to clean and orgainze the mess and disorganization left behind by others!

Now see that would put me off using that stove if I had to clean the glass inside it. How on earth do you cook something like a casserole that bubbles and splatters and not get the glass dirty, I guess you can't and have to be very regimental about cleaning it off toute suite. I couldn't be that dedicated.

Same thing if it had a traditional window in the door. That glass always requires cleaning. Won't matter too much to me. I like to use "cook-in" bags to roast in and I'll use the Sunbeam "Carousel" to Rotisserie. Otherwise its suthun friaaahd!

Here is my "cook-in" bag.

Goes in the DW.
Keeps oven clean
Recyclable.
Black color browns food spectacularly.

I have a SS version that STINKS compared to this el cheapo.
I think I'm gonna stop scrubbing it and let a crust form a diamond-hard coating as one would do in a cast-iron fry-pan.
