Help Support :

those are a pair of Sears-Robuck Kenmores. good set. my bst friends have a pair exactally like that

It looks fishy!! I'd say it is a Kenmore Catalyist. A machine that I have not yet gotten a hold of yet. I don't think it is a Calypso. The display looks a little long. But I could be wrong.

frapdoodle----

Roebuck has been out of the Sears table for quite a while now. They(Sears) are now owned by KMart. That's why, when (and a real if)you do go to a KMart, you see Kenmore and Electrolux vacuum cleaners(the Electroluxes are not the ones sold door to door but are made by the same company that owns Frigidaire. They also own Eureka which is the company that makes the Electrolx vacs you'll see at Sears and KMart.) They are true junk, worse than Royal's Dirt Devils! But,as I said earlier,Roebuck is history. There is a true story about how Sears fucked Roebuck over but,I do not remember it in detail. All I remember is that it was a real, true unfair practice on Sear's part but nothing Roebuck could do legaly to fight them.

KMart owns sears?

I always thought that Sears bought Kmart... Not Kmart bought Sears.. Sears is a much larger company than Kmart was... Doesn't really matter though... They're all one company now.

Werent sears & Roebuck Partners?

They were partners werent they ? This is sad Because these names are classics.

When I right them a check I always right Sears & Roebuck & company -I love it like that !!!

Guess I`m living in the wrong times.

Yup, a Catalyst washer. A very flexible washer with lots of options. I love the soak-and-wash feature, one of the best ways to get out tough stains in a top loader without beating them to death. If this machine had the larger agitator and used medium speed for normal agitation, it would have been nearly perfect!

My sister's family has the machine I found behind Lowes five years ago. They love it.

Miles Apart

Louis amazes me with his grasp of American machines and be the one to provide the info on the money shot. Long live the Dutch.

*Sears, Roebuck, & Co"

"Sears, Roebuck & Co" is the wholly owned subsidary of Sears Holding Company, formed when K-Mart purchased Sears.

Sears dropped "Roebuck" from the the trade name of it's stores and such in the 1970's but the corporate name remained offically "Sears, Roebuck, and Co.

Mr. Roebuck left the company in the late 1800's partly because of ill health (stress mainly from the business), but am not sure if anything else was done to him by Sears or any of his family. Mr. Roebuck did return to the company during the Great Depression and remained a spokesman until his death, which was long after Mr. Sears had gone to his own grave.

Catalyst

function is essentially an update of Kelvinator's "Magic Minute" stain treatment function. Superconcentrated detergent and agitation for a short period before the regular wash cycle.

It is a Catalyst I had one and it was great utill the man from Sears tore it up they replaced it with the Calypso that sucked I liked that Catalyst it was great at removing stains because it would take the detergent and mix it with water and make a foam and spray and spin it into the clothes.I like that you did not have to pretreat the clothes.
