How about you show us some storm pictures from outside your window and then juxtaposition those with lovely shots of your roaring fireplace warming up your cozy living room. Setting up a still life containing a cup with fragrant, mulled wine and some comfort food in front of the fireplace and posting it here; well, there is something else that you can do on a stormy night.

I'm too old (and far gone) for all that Juxtaposing stuff.
Maybe later I'll do some "selfies" doing snow angels and the like. NOT !!!
Well into a few "Spirits".
Who knows what will happen next once the Tiki Light has been on for too long. LOL
But will keep all updated here on the Cape as we are supposed to get 15 inches Plus.

Though I dont have the fabulous range, I'm still gonna do a mess of cooking. We're closed at Cape Cod Vacuum tomorrow so I'll have all day to prep some great meals to freeze for later. For tonights (very late) dinner, Im starting with some caramelized onions to top a NY strip...

Tomorrows breakfast is crabmeat quiche and blackberry crepes with mascarpone cheese. This is why I will never be thin!

Which has been nearly EVERY DAY! for the last 6 weeks I make a meal that requires the stove or oven to be on for a long time and it is some good northern stick to your ribs food. Usually a hotdish(casserole if you're not from MN) a soup or a roast. Today was Beef barley soup and fresh baked rolls.
Two weeks ago the power failed @2230CST when it was -25f. I manually lit the stovetop burners for heat for the hour it took Dakota Electric to restore power.
Super Kudos to the linesmen/electricians who fixed it so fast working outdoors @ 2230-2330CST on the coldest night in 20 years(-25F). GREAT JOB DAKOTA ELECTRIC CREW!

I was going to bake for my church committee meeting
this afternoon (Tuesday, January 21-) Was going to make my "Lemon Butter Cake" (with Good King Arthur Flour), but the committee meeting was cancelled (YAY!)
I was able to go to a favorite discussion group instead......and I took my "Very Vanilla" cake version (two TABLESPOONS-yes!) of pure extract. Topic was good, (forgiving oneself and others) and not a lot of the cake was left.
I recently made my "Oh! That Orange" (new name) version in a vintage kitchen in December.
No idea whatsoever as to the current temperature outside in Kent, OH, and no desire to know.
Now out of eggs, so I might run the clean cycle tomorrow for the heat.

It's -6 f. here right now..(-21 C.) yet barely 60 mi away in Detroit it's +4. Same as Kent there Lawrence ,you're having a heat wave LOL

Funny, it was cold and I did not want to go to the store so I rummaged the freezer. I avoid meat usually but found a country style pork ribs and decided on cabbage soup. Had a head of cabbage I was gong to use to make pierogi during the holidays but never did. Popped the pork into the pressure cooker frozen and about 30 minutes later lots of nice juicy meat and broth read for the shredded cabbage and a quart of canned tomatoes. Boiled up some potatoes and had a nice hearty winter's meal - with enough for the next day or two.

When I think of cold weather like when we used to live in Chicago, I think of Pot Roast and things that are baked. Like home made raisin bread or croissants. On a cold morning a Dutch Apple Pancake with some good tea really hits the spot.
Eddie, you have enough comfort food to be snowed in for a week! All three look excellent.
