Help Support :

cute aren't they?.....theres two pigs, Pepper and Prescilla, they were both rescues....and spoiled rotten

actually a great majority of my animals are rescues....we only bought 10 chickens and five goats....the rest were from people giving them up or Animal Rescues....

theres around 100 chickens alone....and 20 roosters

we bought 12 chicks and 8 ducklings during Easter for the kids.....

and we are incubating fertile eggs.....some days they are popping out of the shell like mad...

we eat and sell the eggs, but I can't kill any of my flock to eat...thats just not in me....

we have been selling baby bunnies as well...

and to think, we only started with a few chickens for our own eggs....that was a year ago.....yes, we're heading for the funny farm!

So you've got your own menagerie goin on, I love it! I grew up on a farm in Arkansas and would love to have a chicken or two but it's not allowed in city limits apparently, plus we live on post and the housing people are reeeeeally strick about what animals we can and can't have. Chows are a banned breed on post but I've had my Oso-Feo for 13 years and wouldn't give him up for some silly rule.
I would never be able to kill any of my own farm animals either... I couldn't take care of them everyday and bond with them then sit down at the table and know Im eating them for dinner!

Oh yes,

Your rates will go up.,

After the hail storm in '09 my homeowners doubled, and has gone up $200 to $400 per year since.  Each time they cite the storm(s).

Insurance companies are the work of the devil.  Speaking from my experiences with American Family Insurance, I had a Jeep totaled in 2004 when a drunk hit me, and again in 2009 from the hail.   Also the hail damage to the house, which they still have not completely repaired.  These guys are serious and they don't even use lube.

love the geese and animals - had no idea you had SO many! Thanks for sharing your family pet photos - we couldn't eat them either. They should have a bigger pool to play in - there's one in that pool and he/she looks like she's not letting anyone else share the real estate. LOL!

Yes, your insurance rates will go up yearly, claim or not. But as far as comp insurance on a vehicle, they usually dont. Like hail damage, tree falling on it or hitting a deer. Or at least they dont here because it is circumstances beyond your control. But a physical accident like someone drunk hitting you with no insurance and you collect against collision coverage, it is charged to the policy as a claim, just like you were at fault. Homeowners charges every claim against you regardless and normally rates will drastically rise after 3 claims, regardless of the company because they have their ways of knowing thru all companies. At least thats what this state's insurance regulators mandate.

I think it really depends on your insurance company. We have a fabulous company for all of our insurance needs (USAA) We have made claims on the comprehensive part of our coverage twice in the last 3 years and our rates only recently went up when hubs and I each got new cars.

Hey Martin, I had no idea....

That happened down your way. We had on & off
storms, and then Torrential downpour, up here,
on Friday night. A Lot of Flash flooding, and
washed out roads this way.

Hope all is getting better. Wishing You, Jack,
and the kids All My Best.

Louis

They don't just raise your rates.

One of the "Good Neighbor" insurance companies sent cancellation notices to every policy holder that filed a claim.

Reason:  "They were diversifying themselves of areas with more claims."  One lady I know has had that company since 1950 and has not ever filed a claim.  CANCELLED!!

We carry a zero deductible on our comprehensive auto insurance. It's really not that much more than a $500 deductible. We have $500 deductible on our collision coverage.
When our dog Abbey ate the seatbelts on my car, they even paid for a 10 long car rental, no questions asked!

We got up to 92 today and had this wing-ding bitcheroo of a storm hit that was almost all red on the radar. Lots and lots of lightning with strong winds and hard downpours made this a doozie. There are still rumbles of thunder an hour after it started. The temperature has dropped to 70. Fortunately, the power stayed on and no trees came down close by. As they say, "'Tis the season."

We have been having rain, thankfully nothing severe.  Just cool temps and glorious wet rain.

I picked my daughter up from latchkey this evening and it was just sprinkling when we came in the house.  Put the dog out and went to change clothes.  Went back to the door and the dog is huddled by the door and the rain is coming down in buckets, (or is that Bouquets) anyway, in 20 minutes we got an inch an a quarter.

All weekend it has just been gentle rain only about three inches all weekend, but thank you Jesus, RAIN.

Call and have your Roofing shingles checked that looks like a hell of a storm you have proof it did that to your car which is bad.

You could get a free roof well for the most part and Hail that size I know did some damaged..

Glad your O.K. it's scary as hell freak storms,I am terrified of them ever sense the Twisters that leveled everything

here in 2011...

actually the roof was replaced about 3 years ago, when we had a bad storm tear off most of the shingles, at that time, the house was only 7 years old.....we did get a lot of the specks all over the ground, but it still looks OK up there as we walked around....sheds are OK as well.....

got the estimate back for the Jeep, so far its looks to be over 8000.00 in repair work, a lot of the panels are being replaced, especially the hood and roof and trim....this doesn't include the rental cost....or what ever else they are gonna run into...100% covered, no questions asked!

AND, it will take over a month to do all the work...

its hard to see the damage in pics, but I will do a before and after.....

still upsetting that this happened, and that their tearing into the Jeep to do these repairs...its like fixing something that isn't actually broke!

thanks again for everyones input and concern

cannot feel your pain

with all that happened, Martin - $8K is a lot of labor cost and very little parts, so I hope the labor is excellent in their craft.

Funny...talking about tearing into the Jeep to do repairs..and feeling like nothing is broke:
One sunny bright day, accelerating from a stop light, we were doing about 35 mph and still acclerating when a big rear-end bash jerked us out of our seats. The guy stopped, said he was falling asleep at the wheel because he worked so many hours, and called the police. We figured it was texting. The car repair to the back end was about $3K...and I have never felt the same about the car. But you're getting new panels and it wasn't a collision where alignment of panels is critical.

Your vehicle will most likely look better than new - although it was so clean anyways.

Phil

At least the deer are ok...

I see that the deer just kept right on grazing...

(that orange truck really slowed down, didn't it?)
