Stove question???

Has anyone ever had a Hardwick, Dixie or Brown gas stove, I had a green Hardwick I loved, and would like another one of the Cleveland Tennessee gas stoves to play with, its getting cooler out and the extra heat would be kind of nice.

My aunt and uncle and several neighbors had Hardwick's with 1/2 kerosene heater and 1/2 gas stove. We had a Dixie here as a kid that I wished was still here. I had a green Brown gas cooktop and wall oven that was good. Nothing like the crap made today.

My last home in Birmingham (built 1957, purchased by me in 2001) came with a harvest gold 36" wide Hardwick range (c. 1976).  I had no complaints about the range, worked fine.  Eventually I replaced it with a 1957 Kenmore range.

I had a Brown in my "first" apartment (i.e. the first apartment that was mine alone). It was a BOL model with an oven pilot that went out constantly. Cooked OK, but was definitely a bulk buy kind of stove.

Just saw a gorgeous early 60's Hardwick in the apartment of a cookbook author. The unit is for sale and I may snag the range to replace my OKM (nothing wrong with it, but the Hardwick is so gorgeous).
