Strange Behavior With Appliances!

My Dad grew up in the 1940's in a dirt poor Louisiana oilfield town. He began to pay his own way at 9 years old by hustling and peddaling any and everything legal to make his money. Growing insecure about money affects one for a lifetime. No matter how much money he has now, he refuses to crank up his electric stove for fear of high bills and wearing it out. "wearing it out" is his favorite saying. I have heard it so many times, I don't pay attention to it anymore. Hr re-uses wash water from his washing machine, and in the summer he disconnects the plumbing to water his yard with the grey water. Only water that goes down the drain is from the toilet. But alot of the things he does make perfect sense if you analize them closely enough.

I made it back home late last night, caught the last seat available on a non stop to Houston. Called the doctor and he prescibed an antibiotic and a steroid today. Instead of feeling totally dead, I just feel like crap now. I am SO glad to be back in the great State of Texas! And it feels good to be back home!
Another thing I didn't mention about my visit to my sisters house is that they are obsessed with food! She has a Sub Zero in the kitchen and a second refrigerator and stand alone freezer in the basement. All are full up and packed so tight you couldn't stick a finger in there! Say you want a lunchmeat sandwich, take your pick she always has at least 10 different varieties on hand! It's like she bought the grocery store home!
Her family isn't overwight, it's just like they collect this food. Quite a bit of it was out of date stuff too!
I ran a load of laundry in her washer, properly demonstrating that you don't need the entire window full of suds to get clean clothing, and if the machine isn't in suds lock your clothing will get done faster. I also went downstairs and hiked their water tank up to 130. Nobody said anything about it.
But it feels great to be back home and thanks to all my freinds here at automaticwasher.org for caring about me!

My father is a depression-era baby, just like yours is. They sound very much alike.

A co-worker of my mothers's once asked why my parents had divorced after 20+/- years of marriage.

"STINGY" was used on the way to getting to the answer.

Apparently the woman said "say no mre" and proceeded to describe dad's EMOTIONAL lacks and stinginess as well, NEVER HAVING MET HIM!

Funny how in this day and age, many people who lived in the depression era still do not take to the auto dishwasher like say a washer or dryer. My parents, especially my father still sees it as something that is kind of frivilous.

Though come the holiday parties when a lot of cooking and dirty dishes come into play it becomes a real convenience.

No wonder the machine still looks new after 16 yrs. In this case definitely a blessing.
