Yesterday I went to an auction and picked up a "Nova mini wash 2000" washer. Sorry, no camera! The hinged top is a mustard yellow, and inside is a h-axis basket. It is totally manual. You fill it to a line, put your clothes in and close the basket, then close the top and set the timer (0-10). It tumbles the clothes, and every 30 seconds or so, it reverses for 30 seconds. When it's done, you drop a hose, and let it gravity drain.

The back label says it's made in Belgium.

Bought it for a dollar, could'nt resist.

I had one of those

I had an Avanti Countertop WD back in 1981. I learned quickly that the countertop in the kitchen was NOT the right place to use it. So, I put it in the bathtub. I used it all of the time for a year. For rinsing you would adjust the hose, turn on the water and reset it to 10 minutes. It would spray water in the basket and when the level reached the right height it would then be like an overflow rinse of long ago.

It also dried, but took a long time. You also had to take the clothes out and wring them by hand before putting them back in to dry. It worked pretty well. I did the heavy items like jeans and towels in the laundry room of the condo building.

Every now and then, these machines crop up on eBay UK, as well as the Tefal branded mini washers. I've noticed that they usually rack up a fair number of bids, and sell for pretty high prices; apparently they're highly sought after by the RV/camping crowd, which may have something to do with this.

A year or two ago, the Nova was brought back onto the market here under the bargain basement Hinari brand, with a slightly different lid design. However, it now appears to have been discontinued again. Link below shows the product page on Amazon, with a handful of reviews from users.

Avanti counter top washer

I have one of the Avanti counter top washers, It's pretty neat and it works just like a full size washer but it doesn't have a spin cycle at all after it's done You have to hand wring it out or put it in your full size washer and go to the spin cycle but over all for a being a counter top it works really well. I have it in my vac room so I will dig it out and take a picture of it.
