Strange Spinner

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Do any of the numbers on the rating plate refer to the spin speed? It looks like the motor is on the side so it is probably belt driven rather than direct drive.

Thanks Louis, so it is fairly slow for a spin dryer. It would still by nice to have but not as useful as a faster spinner.

Wow, perhaps I should buy the Miele and get it shipped to the States if they are charging $4000 for a new commercial spinner there.

Best argument for high speed extraction

"You can take an entire load of heavy towels and jeans out of a 30lb. washer and put it in one of my Bock extractors and then put it in one Huebsh dryer and the entire load will dry in less than 14 minutes! A regular hard mount washer generates about 85 G's with a spin of 510rpm. But a 35lb. Bock extractor generates nearly 800 G's and spins at 1725 rpm! After you take out jeans and towels from a washer it has about
55% water retention. But after just a 3 minute spin in a Bock extractor the cloths hold barely 20% water. So if you put a load of jeans and towels in a dryer that is 55% full of water then for the first thirty minutes that burner is on nealry constant.
But when you take a load of jeans and towels out of a bock ectractor with barely 20% water content in the cloths then for the first few minutes the burner is on as it reaches the high temperture quickly and the residual water in the cloths is heated, turned into vapor and expelled out the duct."

You Can Find Bock Extractors On fleaPay

And other sources for used commercial laundry equipment.

Aside from a more robust build and larger capacity any of the standard domestic spin dryers will do.

That being said one tends to prefer older domestic spin dryers without braking systems. The newer ones make so much racket when ramping up and down due the plastic bits inside that are part of the locking system.

If you are really lucky some eBay sellers will ship spinners from Europe to this side of the pond. Your only worry then would be the difference in voltage and frequency. If you have a 220v outlet then that problem is solved, long as you change the plug. Depending upon how old the unit is it may or may not be bothered by the ten percent difference in frequency.

Contacted seller!

I emailed the seller of the spinner:

Hi there,

My apologies for contacting you in English but I don't speak
German. I am from UK but living in western Hungary. I really like
the spinner but could you tell me the approximate dimensions so
I can check whether it would fit in my car?

Many thanks,

Phil
