I never do pots and pans in the dishwasher, still I had'nt much time left yesterdayevening and there was room for them so I did put them in the dishwasher. This morning when I woke up on my first free morning since euh 2008, I was disappointed by my Miele. Everthing did sparkle, but the inside of the pots and specially this pan was euh... as cloudy as the sky above the vulcano who takes hostage 63 000 belgian people ^^!

Anyway what went wrong... There was plenty of salt and additive + I haven't changed the factory settings of the rinse aid nor the watersoftner. When I got installed, the salesman (yup he did install it...) took care of it!

Ooh and we finally installed

the new hood from NOVY. NOVY is the oldest domesticapplaincesfrim in Belgium that still builds hoods, cooktops, steam/combi/microwave ovens.

This stainlessteel model has 3 speeds + it's soooooo quite!
Btw the stove was bought in 1983 and is still working! I will be 27 in august!

Everbody get out your magnifying lenses

and, oh, right, well, never-mind.
Lead me not into temptation, Toggles.

I agree, that looks like starch. My Miele does starch well with the newest 9in1 and 7in1 tabs, but the regular stuff doesn't get to it.

Does your Miele have a "universal plus" program or two? Those are specifically designed to raise the temperature to just the right level for the enzymes which attack starch and keep it there long enough to do a good job. Works well for me.

The Universal program

was used but as we speak the film is gone by using vinegar! The pan was used to fry some meat but well I can't blame my Miele so I'll blame the bloody products ^^!

The fold-down top is very nice! When not cooking I have an extra worksurface! And Toggles this one has an oven thermostat.

We have the same problem with rice and potatoes. One way to reduce this is to soak the pan in water for a few hours before putting in the DW. If it comes out stained again, we also use vinegar to remove it. Then just rinse with water and dry.

Strangely enough, Finish powerball tabs in the self dissolving packets will remove this, but Finish powerball tabs in the non-dissolving packs will not remove this.

That's salt, not starch

Look at the rinse aid dispenser lid, it has the latch and the hinge all encrusted with salt.

Askomiele, have you checked the salt dispenser cap ? Is it screwed tight ? If it were not tight enough salted water may exit from there and cause such disaster

Also which detergent do you use, maybe 3-in-1, 5-in-1, 243-in-1 tabs WITH THE WATER SOFTENER ACTIVATED YET ?

The...

salt cap is secured and yes I use the more-in-1 tabs with the watersoftner activated. We have extremely hard water overhere soo it's best I use both. One thing I don't understand is why I only see it appear on pots and pans (this one was the worst but there was another pan where the bottom of it was cloudy) + it's alwasy the interrior what's affected never on the sides nor the outside!

I have no idea what the muc is on the rinse aid. I rinsed it with water and it flowed away.

I think you've better to use regular powder and set the softener on the proper high setting, cause the factory setting is medium hard water. All-in-one tabs require a particular temperature profile / cycle time. Many of the (european) G 1000 and G 2000 mieles have the "tab" option to use all-in-one tabs... but the "Tab" option still had to come when your G 643 was released
