I found a bunch of these 1940's stainless steel medical cabinets on a loading dock waiting for the trash. The guys at the building that they came from said that they were being replaced with composite board / laminate covered stuff - ( the kind that get saggy shelves after an hour of use)
Oh well - worked out good for me ! I only kept one and sold the rest - now I regret it as my collection of deadly household liquids is ever growing - and they make the perfect showcase.

one more shot of the cabinet

I am particularly fond of the jug of "Blue Label DETHOL"
(middle right side) a wonderful all purpose killing product with a happy name !

Soilax:

Dan:

Soilax was for washing walls, mainly. I remember it from when I was a kid; people used to do a lot more wall-washing than they do now (fewer smokers, cheaper paint today). From what I can remember of its smell, I would imagine that TSP was a prime ingredient.

I have an empty Janitor in a Drum

What was or in that crazy smiling clown face thing?

crazy clown face

That creepy clown guy is actually a box of chalk and the chalk are his teeth.
If I had a box like that when I was a kid it would have frightened the hell outta me !

I guess having the coffe cans in with the cleaning stuff is kinda strange - Looks like I will have to find another cabinet so I can divide the themes a little better.

NICE SCORE!!!! that is a beautiful cabinet! Love your display there! I'd love to find something like that too. You should have trucked away the whole load and sold them on Craig's list or something. I imagine a new cabinet like that at a trendy designer furniture or cabinet shop would cost you over 2 grand!
