Gong in to spin with a suds cake, leaves something to be desired compared to a Unimatic and the same process. It's almost like, uhh, is it broken, it's just not working right. I do have to wonder if the spin between the wash & rinse fill is getting up to full speed by the time it's time to start coasting down. And it seems to slow to a stop during the coasting rather quickly. My almost total exposure was SQs in laundromats in the 1970s with the much faster spin speeds.

Is that an overflow rinse like my mom's old Norge Timeline had? With California's current drought, if the Water Police caught you using one of those machines they'd reopen Alcatraz and get a room ready for you.
I did notice in the video that yes the suds cake went bye bye but...it went into the outer tub and the washtub just churned it up even more with the spinning action. Thats why it never reaches top speed. The solid tub SQ I had the joy of using when I was younger would have issues with suds if one used too much detergent. Tide was notorious for sudscakes followed by blue Cheer and Breeze. My mom bought what ever was on sale. I liked using All Controlled Suds and Dash since the SQ washer did well with those detergents. Today if I had a solid tub SQ washer, I would use an HE detergent like I use in my SQ washer that I have.

When I lived in the high rise and used the crash-bang Speed Queens, it was amazing how well the end of wash overflow got rid of all suds on top of the water, but I was using controlled sudsing Fresh Start with Grand Union water conditioner. Those SQ agitators did not have the vanes that went to the top either so fewer suds were churned up during the wash. I am glad it was their water for the long overflow period and not mine. It is amazing how much more effective the overflow rinse was in the SQ than in any Frigidaire solid tub.
About the spin speed and the rapid slowing, it sounds like it could be water drag on the tub. Twice someone let a sock or something go overboard and it clogged the inlet to the pump. It could not even throw all of the wash water before the rinse fill started and it was only by the end of the final spin that the clothes were spun dry. If it were not for the L-O-N-G overflow rinse, the rinsing would not have been adequate with no spin even for the perma-press load.
