I often wonder that sort of thing, too, on forums I've been on over the years.

From the reverse view, there have been periods I quit posting on forums (including this one). Sometimes, after a period, I return (which happened here). Other times, it seems like a temporary break becomes "forever." And I do wonder...are there people who notice I'm gone, and miss me? Or am I quickly and totally forgotten?

I was also a major fan of Fresh Start. The low suds, the great aroma and stain removal were what surprised me because it was cheaper then Tide or Dash. I used it mostly in my Frigidaire 1-18s, my Mieles,my Askos,my Westinghouse Laundromats and my Italian made Philcos, Admirals and Equators. I was so angry when they changed the aroma. Ajax was also scented that same aroma but also stopped. I now use Gain, Gain with bleach and the fabric softener of the same aroma.

Fresh start

I have fond memories, although not as an actual direct user. It was a brand my mother used--I am thinking about 1980. I have a sense--but no concrete memories here--that I might have influenced her. I also have a sense the "selling point" for me was the lower amount used per load vs. other brands. Perhaps I was frugal early on, perhaps it was a "use less" mentality drilled in at school. (Saving resources was something covered at school, due to the era.) My guess is that my mother might have caved, however, to shut me up. LOL But she must have found it acceptable, because I recall it being used a while. Indeed, I think Fresh Start and Cheer were the only two detergents I really recall being long time standards. At some point, when I was older, it reached a point of being different brands pretty much every time--I suppose whatever was cheapest. There was even occasionally liquid detergent to be seen. (EEEK!)
