That big huge Spiralator in that little wash tub with the vigorous Beam agitation! That must be a wonderful site! I'm green with envy! Congrats!

it really Spirolates! Believe me, no dirt is gonna escape it! In fact I would say its the most vigorous and gentle for an agitator machine.

to answer your question Artey's harness is made of hemp and lined with polar fleece and is designed to protect him in a car crash; not for walking.
Looking over the Comfy harness I can see it wouldn't hold a Bull Terrier for two minutes but thank you for your concern.

Jon, I understand, a dog's seat belt. Amazing. But earlier today, in reflection during my bike ride, I thought your harness may have been the homemade precursor of the Comfy. The theory is that a neck leash triggers a pull reflex in the dog, whereas a chest harness does not. Athena is a 40 pound American Bull-Pit mix, strong as an ox, and she hasn't wrecked it--YET.
I would be happy to send you one for Arty to test; in fact I was going to call John and ask for your address to surprise you with it. I'll do anything to get me closer to being allowed to borrow, beg, steal, trade the glass-fronted lighted Easy just for a winter some time in the future.

The Easy is Beautiful!
This may seem a silly question, but what does the Easy sound like when it's running? Being a Beam design, does it sound similar to Eddy's '53 Hotpoint and '57 Speed Queen? Is it smooth and quiet like Robert's '63 Easy?

As for the Easy Spin Drier, I need it here for the promotions of my detergent, but you are welcome to come play with it here. John also has a 52 Easy that could easily be converted to a window style, a winter project perhaps?

The early Westinghouse microwave oven has interesting insides-the Litton magnetron has an electromagnet coil instead of a perm magnet one! and the liquid cooling for the tube!AN ELECTRONIC TREASURE!Should be in a museum for early microwave ovens!and like thatr Easy washer.love the picture of everyone crawling around like reptiles looking for the "Jesus ring!"-Its --"Oh Jesus-dropped the ring!"says an older record changer repair guy to me years and years ago.He called the snap rings "Jesus rings!"The early microwave cooling systems used oil or even distilled water in the sealed system.Was used to cool the tube,and some other parts.Later on the perm magnet magnetrons came out that are forced air cooled by a fan or blower.Can that Easy washer star in a future "See It Wash"DVD!

Wow, guys great finds a Hoover, Easy, and a Westinghouse/Tappan/Litton microwave. I am curious did the built in microwave come out of a mansion, i am sure it was very expensive? I think the EASY must of suffered it's broken sediment tube early on and then sat unused for years as was posted. Years ago there was the only Laundromat in town, near my parents with Easy machines the paint was totally gone on the base of most of the agitators, some of the machines took 2 dimes, and other's 1 quarter. I remember going there my last trip in the mid 1970's The Easy's were gone and a row of turquoise SQ's with solid tubs were there with a vend price of 50 cents. Looks like everyone had a nice time and good to see the smiles. It will be a blessing when this summer is over 100F, here today. I think the heat index was 104. alr

That electronic oven is probably a model OLA22. It would very likely be the same as the TAPPAN R-4 that i've got. The picture of the guts of the unit are the same as the TAPPAN.
Whoever owns that unit should shoot me a message. The TAPPAN I have came with tech notes and other fun stuff. You may find it interesting. I have the coolant mix and other data (antifreeze and distilled water).
I found the Westinghouse Electronic in a circa approximately 1960 catalog.
Beware though, the power supplies in any microwave (let alone this monster) are brutal. These puppies are not for the novice to repair. I've been involved with microwave ovens for decades and even this baby frightens me.
Please keep in contact. I'd love to trade notes as not many of these ovens are likely to be around anymore. We may be the last ones on this deserted island of early electronic cookery.

It would be intersting to see that Westinghouse microwave cooker in use again--but so many things to check before firing it up-has it been unused for a long time?and for heavens sakes-be sure the covers are put back on before running it-yes,as Paulg points out-microwave oven voltages are not only brutal-but LETHAL.this thing is sort of like one of our transmitters-but in miniature.and it looks like the beat runs from 208-240V unlike common tabletop microwaves that run on 120V.It may also run on a diffrent frequency than the present 2.4Ghz.older ovens often did.

Why aren't we paying any attention to that interesting looking washing machine on the left? The one in the middle looks like a Philco. Would enjoy some detailed pictures of that nice blue conrol panel and the insides.

it is a different mechanism for sure. Even Robert and Greg were gobsmacked with it. The Easy weighs the tub with clothes and water and there are two settings half full and full. A solenoid sets the distance a weight switch travels under the tub. As the tub fills the whole unit sinks and triggers the switch to wash! When you change water levels you can hear the solenoid engage and disengage!

You guys look like you were having so much fun on your hands and knees in the backyard...ha-ha-ha. That Easy automatic is too cool!! LOVE IT. We need a video of that in action. Don't make me fly to Boston and hop the fence into your backyard to see the Easy in action.

Hi jon & gang, Looks like a grand time was had by all!!! the shots of all on the grass searching for those illusive springy parts is am familiar with - not good for the stress levels..that Spiralator in the easy looks huge compared to the twinny, is it much bigger and metal??

I can tell you the Automatic has a huge central shaft unlike the twinnie, when I go down this weekend we'll do a comparison between the two if Robert didn't snap up the spiralator and take it with him back to Minnie for his twinnie!
I gotta say it really moves the laundry in that all white porcelain tub WOW!
