Does anyone know how good this stuff works? I always figured it had poor cleaning power because of the price and the fact that the liquid is clear, but I guess that's just because I never tried it on a dirty load. As you can see on the bottle, they claim it has triple cleaning power...

You get exactly what you pay for- Cheap detergent. It is better than nothing, for sure, but nothing spectacular. The scent reminds me of dish soap.

It certainly is a bargain at $.05 per load, but the score for it at Consumer Reports is very low.  It received an overall score of 34, with cleaning ability rated at only Fair.  CR found it not able to remove grass, blood, or dust sebum (ring around the collar) from their test load.

If you have softened water, your results may be better.  CR tests in relatively hard water.  As Launderess said, it is probably fine for lightly-soiled loads, or if you pretreat stains.  Not every load requires a "big guns" detergent.

For the sake of comparison, Wisk Deep Clean (liquid) scored an 80, was rated Very Good for cleaning ability, and was very good at removing the three aforementioned stains for $.14 per load.

The top-scoring detergent, Tide With Bleach HE (powder) scored an 82, was rated Excellent for cleaning ability, and excellent at removing stains for $.22 per load.

It's ok..

So long as you don't have truly dirty clothes. It doesn't have that oh so important enzyme cocktail available in upper shelf detergents, just surfactants and scent. It will clean office clothes, refresh musty items, but don't count on it for heavy duty cleaning. And stain removal? Forget about it, lol.

I've

used it a long time ago.
It's fine.. You can always spike it with a little Washing Soda, Borax, White King, Biz.
Or better yet, STPP.
Any of the above with take it up a notch if need be.

I've used it

and like others said, it gets ride of light soil and odor but that is about it.

I Told A Lie

What I've got is *Sunlight* Triple Clean in Lemon Fresh scent. This product does contain enzymes (protease and amylase" and one quite likes the scent.

Just finished ironing some bed linen laundered yesterday and everything smells wonderful.

My bottle has writing in both French and English.

A LIE???

Laundress that is something I would expect from Our Rose, but from you. Tsk-Tsk.
Well it seems to be but a small one, so all is forgiven.
Please share more with us regarding your Sunlight Triple clean with Lemon Fresh scent. Does it at least have a Royal Doulton?

It Was The French Writing That Made Me Do It!

*LOL*

Actually am quite a sucker for "lemon scented" laundry products, going back to vintage Fab (with lemon fresh Borax).

The Sunlight liquid actually cleans quite well and makes no suds issues in the Miele (haven't tired it in the AEG). More importantly it does not seem to create the scum one sees in wash and rinse waters as they drain into the sink that other liquid detergents seem to do.

To boost cleaning/stain removal ability can always bung in any of the various oxygen bleaches (with or without enzymes) one has in the stash such as Tide "Vivid" pods.
