Sunbeam C30 Instructions

Does anyone need me to scan & send them the paperwork/instructions that came with the Sunbeam C30?

I lucked out at Goodwill today for a whopping $2.99! I had taken the bottom off and found the cord in there. The lid was taped on but I could hear the filter in there when I shook it. Much to my surprise when I got home and took the lid off, the original paperwork and some filters in their original package were in there too (a couple were used but most all were there). It's very shiny and not too many scratches. Got to polish it tomorrow.

Me Please!!!

Back in July an aunt was cleaning out her mother-in-law's vacation house and found a Sunbeam Coffeemaster. She knew of my love of vintage appliances and gave it to me, much to the dismay of my vintage-appliance-hating immediate family. I'm pretty sure it is a C30. It has the two solid, not glass, pots, and both the upper and lower pots have the same handles. I think mine's complete, with the gasket, and all the parts. I haven't a clue how to use it. It's stashed in the basement and as soon as I find it, I would like to clean it and then make some coffee. I understand that the coffee from a vacuum pot can't be beat, and since I love good coffee, I really want to try it out.

Also, if anyone else here has one of these beasts, I would be thankful if you take some step-by-step photos of the machine in use for those of us who have never even seen one before. I want to use mine, but I don't want to risk using it improperly and damaging it. I am pretty good with a percolator, but a vacuum pot is a completely foreign concept to me.

I will take care of that in the morning. I have forgotten how to use my scanner so I will get my brain working with some hot tea (I hate coffee) and get it to you.

I saved these as .jpg photos from my scanner and they are too big to post on here. I don't know how to make the text bigger. On my computer's photo program I can open the picture and zoom in and see the words perfectly. I hope you can too.

I got the instructions and they look great. As soon as I find my Coffeemaster, I shall brew up a pot of my favorite coffee. I used to have a nationally-ranked barista as a housemate, so I learned much about coffee from him. When I recently spoke with him he said he had never seen a vacuum pot in action and is awaiting my report. He did say to buy my beans from a place in Kansas called PT's Coffee. (Yes, they really are that good, I have had it before).
Starbuck's is an interesting concept. They have popularized "good" coffee, but if you really want good coffee, there are many better places to get it. Ahh well, without Starbucks, most Americans would still know only Maxwell House.

The 5 different kinds of coffee, each has its own place, and all are equally importent:

1. Really good coffee (Starbuck's wants to be this).
2. Really nice restaurant coffee.
3. Normal, coffee-flavored, coffee (Maxwell House) This one is esential.
4. Diner coffee. (Best with friends at 3:00 am) Poddibly the most fun coffee.
5. Road trip coffee. Sitting there, plugged in all day, gas station coffee. It will wake the dead and wiggle your back teeth.

Well, I dug my Coffeemaster out of the basement, cleaned it, and used it for the first time. If it had ever been used, it was only lightly, as it is in fantastic shape. Mine has the metal filter and a metal perforated shallow cup that sits atop the filter disk. Mine is a C30C (anyone know how old it is?), it holds 6 cups, and makes some of the best, smoothest, coffee I have ever had. I used Peet's decaf (it's what we had around), and it was roasted 3 months ago, and it was shipped pre-ground. Needless to say, it is not fresh. I have had this coffee percolated, dripped, and now vacuumed, and I can say that the vacuumed batch from the Coffeemaster was by far the best.
Thanks for creating this post, Sikiguya. It inspired me to dig out my coffee pot and try something new and wonderful.
