CONELRAD civil defense stations that would broadcast in the event of an attack.
Active from 1951 to 1963 and replaced by the Emergency Broadcast System.

I've seen those little triangles on vintage radios all my life, and never knew they had any significance.

Picked it up years ago.
I knew it was an oddity. Thanks for noticing the Conelrad markings. The chassis is a well-done chassis but fairly early in its design. Early 1960s is about right.

Remember working on a 1Kw Collins 21V transmitter that had a Conelrad crystal in it.Tried it on the dummy load--even after all those years---worked fine!!!Only transmitter I dealt with that had a Conelrad crystal in it!
