Lovable mixmaster, I have one too. But mine is a more "heavy duty" model (power plus) you can actually knead every sort of dough.
The two hooks in the second pic are "kneaders".
To be clear:
They won't knead dough like bread dough or other sorts of hard dough, infact for the bread, pizza or harder "elastic" doughs you need actual hook shaped things (my mixmasted has them), that kind of mixmaster isn't meant to knead hard doughs in it', if you attempt to make an hard dough with them not only they will not handle it, but you'll probably overheat the thing if not destroying it all...
These kind of kneaders are meant to mix softer things, like who knows...a dough for some, dumplings, gnocchi, Rabaton or blend a pie filling etc...
The have a similar use of the K shaped hook of the Kitchen Aid....
