Sunday Dinner

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Rich had been so inspired by the recent postings of those fabu bundt cakes, that when he saw a great bundt pan last week at the flea market for a buck, he bought it. I think it's a cathedral style pan. If this turns into yet another collection (bundt pans), I blame you, bundtboy!!! Maybe they'll all nest and stack in a corner.....

White cake with pistachio pudding and a vanilla vodka glaze.

What did you do this weekend???

cathedral bundt pan

Yes, I think I recognize the cathedral windows even on their sides. That's a currently available pan and it sells for 35 bucks so you got a deal at 1 dollar.

All that food looks simply delicious.

Nice photos and thanks for sharing.

and yes bundt pans do generally stack - I like to keep a paper towel between them so they don't bang together.

Rich, I have never heard of grilled polenta but I have a feeling it must be delicious. I have fixed it by just browning it in a skillet. Just wondering if it tends to stick to the grill or not. Sure looks like a delicious meal and good friends. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Rich, I have never heard of grilled polenta

Terry, I take the Polenta and form it in a loaf pan. When cool I unmold it and slice it. Just prior to grilling I brush it with roasted garlic oil then put it on the grill. If you try to flip it too soon then it will tend to stick. You can do this in a pan but you don't get the grill marks :-)

I love fried Polenta. I will make it with just 1/2 water, 1/2 milk, salt, and vanilla. Then I slice it then fry it with butter. Just before I take it out of the pan I will add some more butter and maple syrup to the pan. Shake it a bit and turn the slices over. This glazes the slices in a candy like coating.

Y'all come on over for a Polenta fest!! :-)

Fried polenta

Rich, my wife dips the cool polenta sticks in a beaten egg with some salt and pepper, then coats the moist polenta with grated (two day old) french bread crumbs, then fries them. They are delicious!

Rich that sounds just delicious!! I think we need to have a polenta party!! Emilio the breading idea is also a good one that I will try. I have dusted it will flour before but I am sure the egg and bread crumbs would be much better. Thanks guys for sharing.

Do you both cook or are you the main man in the kitchen?

Frigilux, I tend to do most of the daily cooking, but Rich isn't a slouch in the kitchen! He tends to like more "special" cooking like party stuff.

Thanks!
Chuck
